Our beautiful, luxury villas are the ideal location for a tranquil jungle getaway less than one hundred meters from the beach. Located within the TAO Ocean property, our villas serve as relaxing Mexican retreats, with ultimate privacy, an abundance of nature and ample amenities to make this your dream tropical respite.

Entering your home, you will be immediately taken by the spacious, open design, with the back wall of sliding glass doors, giving the feeling of bringing the jungle into the home. Floors are tiled and the walls are filled with wonderful local artwork.

To the left of the entry is a full bath with an adjacent bedroom hosting two twin beds and a large closet. On the other side of the bath is the laundry room with a washer/dryer and cleaning supplies. To the right of the entry is a large kitchen with high-end wood cabinets and granite countertops. The kitchen is equipped with all of the modern kitchenware you will need to cook for up to 6 people and is constantly updated, as needed. You will also have a water dispenser and extra five-gallon bottles of drinking water. The open design of the first floor allows you to engage and converse with one another, while cooking, sitting around the dining table, or relaxing on the sofa and ottoman in the living room area. The entire first floor is air-conditioned and has ceiling fans.

The sliding glass doors that lead to the terrace have shades that are easily maneuvered open or closed for privacy or as an extra block for the late afternoon sun. They open to a large terrace with a table, chairs, chez lounges and a large umbrella that will allow you to enjoy ample shade whenever needed. A charcoal grill is included on the terrace for outdoor grilling.

Though there are homes next to yours, there are lush palm gardens on either side of the terrace that give you a lot of privacy from your neighbors.
Expect to see friendly mapaches and coatis scamper across the terrace now and then, or just hanging out at the edge of the jungle, curious about the activity in and around the house.

On the second floor are the master and guest bedrooms. Both have their own terraces, with the master larger and enjoying a view of the jungle and its many birds. Occasionally, you might even spot a monkey high in the treetops.

Both bedrooms have full private baths and feature AC. They also have ample windows for great natural light as well as cross ventilation when you choose not to use the AC.

All bedrooms have high-quality linens and towels. Along with the washer/dryer on the first floor, you will have plenty of fresh linens. Daily cleaning service is not included but you can request that your house be cleaned for an additional cost during your stay.

The villa also features a beautiful roof-top terrace, from which you will overlook miles of Yucatan Peninsula jungle. The roof is furnished and has a wet bar if you choose to enjoy the roof and its incredible Trade Winds and views for an evening cocktail, or two!

Directly across from your Destino home is Las Villas Akumal, a small condo hotel that has a restaurant on the top floor that affords excellent ocean views and breezes and is open to the public for breakfast and lunch.

The stunning beach is located directly in front of the Las Villas Akumal and there are several public access paths along the road that lead to the beach. The path closest to Destino Akumal is immediately to the left of Las Villas Akumal. From your Destino Akumal home, you can be on the beach in under a minute walking.

From your Destino Akumal home, you can also take a three-minute walk up the beach road to Jungle Fish, the TAO beach club. Its wide open design allows a continuous flow of fresh Trade Winds from the sea to the road. You can enjoy the pool, lounge on the beach under an umbrella, or sit at a table or the bar and enjoy being served a cold drink and fresh ceviche by the friendly restaurant staff. A full menu featuring plenty of fresh seafood is available. You will want to enjoy the tranquility of Jungle Fish many times during your stay at Destino Akumal. Its hours are normally noon until 8 PM.

Destino Akumal is for people who choose tranquility over late-night bars and crowded restaurants. The quiet days and nights are interrupted only by the sounds of the scores of birds species around the property or chirps of tree frogs or the rustling of small mammals in the jungle behind the homes.
