"The room was in need of a full refurbishment. There were cobwebs on the windows, mirror smeary, paintwork chipped and scuffed also the furniture the same. The bed was linked and uncomfortable, the pillows were hard. Clearly hadn't been cleaned from previous occupants as an apple was under a chair. The bathroom was stained, tiles cracked and the grout grimy. On a positive note, the breakfast was tasty but could have been hotter."

"No fault of the hotel but when booked with Hotels.commit was booked as a Hilton. Apparently it has changed ownership and we were never informed by hotels.com which resulted in confusion when trying to look up the hotel on navigation "

"Because of hip and knee problems, it was wonderful to have helpful staff carry my case up the stairs into the hotel. I had a lovely first-floor room, clean, bright, with a spacious bathroom that had a separate tub from the walk-in shower. There was a good amount of space in the area that had a closet and a desk. The selection of teas in the room was excellent for me since I am not a coffee drinker, but they had organic coffee, too. From decorations to comfort and especially to the helpful staff, this was a great choice for me as a solo traveler."

"The Abbotsford was a lovely place to stay while spending the weekend in Callander. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was affordable and delicious, and the location was quiet. Only real complaint was that the door to our room would bang when the windows were open even a little amount. Easily remedied by putting a towel or extra blanket on the floor at the base of the door. We would definitely stay here again."
