"Stayed twice but second visit not as nice"
Stayed here twice. I really feel like this is a hotel that tries to be something more than it is. The room we had the first visit was pretty good, however the second time we came they put us in a room that was made for people in wheelchairs. This means the bathroom amenities weren't as nice and the sink we very low. When you're over 6ft tall it makes using the sink difficult. I also noticed that there is no difference between twin beds and a king. Their headboard goes across the room and the beds slide and lock together. So for different prices you can get essentially the same thing. The only real difference is the sheets they put on the bed. This was disappointing to see. Also, because you have to leave a keycard in a slot for power in the room, if you wanted to leave something for charging while you're out, you can't take the key. So make sure you get two. Lastly, the restaurant service was pretty poor with unfriendly and inattentive staff. We went down one evening for deserts and drinks and they didn't want to seat us (because this was for people eating dinner). Dinner was over, it was late and there was no one there. The next night we went to actually eat there. They told us to go to the bar and get a drink while they get one ready (despite there being a table right in front ready to go. 30 minutes later we go to check in the table (since they made it sound like it would be just a few minutes) and we find out they forgot about us. They say us immediately and guess where?

"Nice hotel near the city "
Nice hotel, close to the city, but a bit of a walk to get to the city center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had amenities. Very comfortable beds. Plenty of places to eat nearby and near the Guinness factory. Only complaint about the room is that it was hot, but they did have a fan we could use and that helped.

"Great location and staff was excellent."
Very comfortable hotel with A/C, which was good considering temps were on warm side. Andre the night manager was exceptional in relocating us to another room (and upgrading to Jr. Suite) when our TV wouldn't work. Great location, close to everything. Breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly.

"*** North Star Hotel ***"
We arrived late from our flight, there was someone to greet us at the door. Reception wasn't overly bright with too many bulbs. Walking up the stairs to our room we noticed the temperature got a little warmer. Our room was at the back of the hotel, spacious with a king size bed, vanity table, writing area and wardrobe with an iron and board. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we wanted to try local cafes/bistros. When we checked out, our flight wasn't until 7pm, so the hotel held our luggage so we could enjoy the city more

Very interesting city with loads to see. The staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful, which extended to booking us on to the new 1916 beyond barricades tour.

"Great hotel with tons of character."
The Dean Hotel is a smallish hotel, very central so you can walk everywhere. We loved the retro decor and theme, our room had a record player, complete with records and speaker. The staff were extremely friendly and enthusiastic. When we asked for recommendations of places to drive for day trips we were given amazing tips, hikes restaurants, seaside towns. The rooftop restaurant was fantastic, the ambiance, the food, you name it. The one drawback is that our room was right next to and above a night club, but the hotel did provide us with ear plugs. Other than that we couldn't recommend this hotel more, very good value for money.

"Convenient location"
Loved the location but it was noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. A different room might have been more quiet. However, we felt comfortable there and would return.
