The room didn't match what I had expected from the picture on line, but the desk convinced me it was virtually the same; so I accepted it. Some of the staff spoke or understood English, but some not so much. However, everyone was polite and helpful. The location made up for the language ...
Comfortable hotel well located only a 10-15 min walk from the old town, and 5 min to the tram to the guggenheim Breakfast buffet is wonderful, fresh squeezed orange juice, omelets made to order, home made yogurt and croissants and anything else you could imagine.
room cleaness, room comfort, Hotel staff are all good enuogh but the room require more improvement in providing room amenities such as refrigerator and slippers.
Nice facility but not exactly opposite the Guggenheim as a picture suggested. The upgraded junior suite did have a view of the museum if you were at the window and looked to a side. The breakfast is continental. You pay more for a hot dish. Tea/coffee with bread and juice that was offered was sufficient ...
Could no beat location of this hotel, which was 10 min walk from Old town , and 15 min stroll to Guggenheim. Great selection of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. Hotel itself was rather dated. My room (513) was a decent size Double (2 singles pushed together), had all you'd expect - safe, hairdryer, ...
A must to stay on a upper floor beautiful view of the bay. Walk around the town. If we could we would have stay here at least two three days. Close enough to Bilboa to taxi if you want to visit that town.
Once a sleepy fishing village, Bilbao transformed into one of Europe’s most popular arts and culture destinations after the opening of the Guggenheim Museum in 1997. This proud Basque city offers plenty of attractions for both business and leisure visitors, and you’ll find an extensive range of accommodation here, including an excellent variety of four-star hotels.
Bilbao’s four-star accommodation is mostly dotted around the centre of the city, especially within the affluent Indautxu neighbourhood. This is a great spot for upmarket shops, the financial district and the Dona Casilda city park. It’s also convenient for the Guggenheim and the pleasant boardwalks along the Nervion river.
While leisure visitors flock to Bilbao for food and culture, the city’s world-class exhibition and conference spaces attract plenty of business travellers too. There’s an excellent selection of business-friendly four star hotels in Bilbao, ranging from the modern to the traditional and featuring fast WiFi, business centres and meeting rooms.
The Guggenheim Museum inevitably tops most visitors’ lists, but the hype is justified. Dazzling both outside and in, Frank Gehry’s masterpiece is packed with fascinating contemporary art, and offers an unforgettable walk through one of the most exciting public art collections in the world. After soaking up some culture, check out Bilbao’s culinary scene with a stroll through the Casco Viejo (old town) neighbourhood. Hop from bar to bar snacking on pintxos (tapas) and trying traditional dishes such as ‘bacalao pil pil’, a slow-cooked dish of salt cod, garlic and olive oil.
Get a different perspective on the city by taking the funicular railway to the top of Artxanda Mountain. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of Bilbao from the summit, where you’ll find a pleasant park and several restaurants – a great place to relax over regional specialities and a glass of two of the local sparkling txacoli wine.
No matter whether you’re visiting Bilbao for business, pleasure or both, search Expedia to find a four-star hotel that’s ideal for your trip.
