"Traditional hotel - a bit dated"
Booked 2 twin rooms - stayed for 1 night. Ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Beds very hard and made so sheets came undone as covers turned back. Bathroom bit dated but at least clean.

"The Royal Hotel "
A little old fashioned but comfortable non the less. The superior room we were in had a spectacular view over the Wye Valley. Comfortable large room only lacking a mini bar fridge for my wife's medication! Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. We didn't eat in the hotel but the bar and the restaurant were crowded-a good sign. Breakfast was ok not great. A good indicator of breakfast quality is how an omelette is cooked, it was poor, like a piece of leather, badly over cooked. My wife's poached eggs, on the other hand were slightly under done with runny whites! We would go back though and choose a non egg breakfast.

"Pleasant stay in good value tradional coaching inn"
Stayed here recently for 3 nights with my wife. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was on the top floor. Word of warning...there is no lift and both staircases are steep. There is free car parking for guests, but the hotel was full when we stayed so we had to park one night on the street (free). We had an evening meal in the hotel resturant on our first night. I had lamb, my wife had steak. Both were very good. I can recommend the Malbec to compliment the meal. The breakfasts are freshly cooked to order and very tasty. The hotel gets very busy in the evening with guests and locals. Our room overlooked the patio. There was loud noise from the patio area past midnight on the Saturday night. This may have been because it was a very warm evening. There is sign in the patio area stating it must be vacated by 11.10pm. Overall, an excellent base to explore the Wye Valley.

"Character hotel close to town centre "
This hotel is primarily a pub with hotel attached. The landlord / owner was really welcoming but I never saw his partner. He was up till closing time in the pub so perhaps not surprising I was sitting downstairs waiting for breakfast with no one around. When he arrived, breakfast was lovely! If you're in no rush and on a budget, this is a convenient stop. Ladies ... BYO hairdryer!!

"Farm stay close to historic town"
I chose this bed and breakfast as I needed somewhere to stay that could act as a base whilst visiting several towns in the surrounding area. My room had all the facilities I would expect for accommodation in a farmhouse and a nice touch was a slice of home baking awaiting me on my arrival. I was also encouraged to use a fully equipped kitchen close to my room if wishing to prepare a meal. I did not need to do this as there was an excellent public house five minutes walk from the B and B. The breakfast was first class with fresh fruit available in addition to the usual choice of cereals..
