If you're rating people based on their ethnicity instead of service, maybe you're the problem. Just saying. Check-in and check-out were smoother than a coastal breeze—grabbed our keys from the holder and dropped them in the box on the way out. No fuss, no queues, no awkward small talk. Each room had the usual tea, coffee, and creamer setup (though we didn’t use it, because we were too busy running around town and stuffing our faces). "Ocean view. Brilliant. Everything in the room you could want (except a box of tissues). Working heat and cool. Our mattress was a little tired but one night did not cripple my back issues. No noise from the highway which is between the motel and the view. And well priced for Apollo Bay at the weekend. Would stay there again."
