“Hip hotel in happening DuPont Circle”
Title says it: the hotel is cool, with all the amenities. Nice, helpful staff, beautiful place, just off DuPont Circle. All of 2 blocks to the metro; could not be more convenient. Fantastic!
“Very impressive hotel.”
The hotel is very clean with large bathroom. The location is 20 minutes walking distance to the White House. You must do the hop on hop off when staying in DC and visit the Holocaust Museum. Philip the concierge is very informative and friendly.
“Can't wait to go back!”
Loved, loved, loved this hotel and its staff. We received friendly service by everyone we came into contact with. The room beautiful and comfortable. Will defi;nitely stay here again!
“Great Place to Stay”
We spent three nights and found the room very spacious, clean and had all of the amenities we enjoy except a coffee machine. On one occaision the hot water was slow to come on in the shower (late afternoon), but otherwise, we thought the hotel was great for our needs. I would stay there again.
“November 2011 Stay”
The only complaint I have is the rooms had a funny smell. I was moved from one room to another because I needed one with a couch but both rooms had a strange oder. They were on two separate floors. After being in the room for a while you couldn't notice it. I guess I got used to it. There was also a crack in the bathroom sink accros the bottom but that didn't bother me. The king suite was very big. I loved the size. It was bright and sunny and had a sitting area perfect for a meeting with clients or to relax and do work. The rooms is pretty. Not all king suites have the same furniture so the room you see on their website as the king suite may not be like the room you end up with. I've found that this is often the case with hotels and I often have to ask to be moved to a room like the one they have pictured on their website.
“Delightful Stay”
I was pleasantly and delightfully surprised.
“Good Choice”
This Palomar is near Dupont Circle, an excellent location if you plan to use the Metro and/or Buses to move around D.C. That was precisely our need as we were there for the MCM and had to take the subway to the race. This hotel is well kept, trendy decorated and provides excellent service. Some rooms are way nicer / bigger than others. Ours was regular size and just ok. Do note there is at least another Palomar hotel (by Rosslyn and it looks very nice from the outside) and other Kimpton hotels close to Dupont (the Madera which from our perspective seems to be significantly lower standard than the Palomar).
“Perfect Hotel and Location”
The Hotel is in a safe neighborhood with a great variety of restaurants within walking distance. They offer a free wine social each day that gives the guests an opportunity to meet other than the elevator. If a friend were going to DC I would highly recommend the Palomar.
“Nice stay but had some issues”
We checked in on October 13th for an anniversary weekend. Our 1st room was somewhat small but very clean and we were fine with it. Except when I went to take a bath, the drain did not work. The next morning on our way out around 9 AM, I asked Ahmed (sp?) at the front desk if it could be fixed while we were out. He said that it would be. We returned to the room around 3 only to find that it still wasn't fixed. When I complained to Ahmed, who was very gracious and helpful, he intially seemed surprised that it was still broken, but soon offered to upgrade us to a larger room. We agreed. Unfortunatley, it was larger but much darker than the 1st room and dirty. I felt uncomfortable complaining again, even when Ahmed asked me how I like the room. We were leaving soon and it did not seem worth it to either switch rooms or vacate while they cleaned. Also, they couldn't make the room sunnier, anyway. The staff was very nice, and the location was great. I can't decied if we would recommend or return.
“Nice boutique hotel in a convenient location!”
This was a great choice. Was a nice hotel with quick check-in and check-out. Courteous staff. I was even provided a free-upgrade to an executive suite, which was much appreciated. The room was very stylish, loved the decor (modern) and was well-maintained. LGBT-friendly hotel and definitely recommend to other travelers!
