“Dated but great”

Clean. Good wifi. Huge bonus: I was able to check in at 9am after a redeye. Shower and a nap, hurrah! Neighborhood was exactly what I wanted. The only con was that the hotel is a bit dated, but honestly I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Extremely pleased.

“Satisfactory”

My room was a little on the small side for a large hotel, but certainly comfortable. I had scheduled a king room and was put in a queen, which didn't matter to me because I was alone, but worth checking if the bed size matters to you. There was some hair in the shower, which was unappealing, but otherwise my room was quite clean.

“Decent base in Washington DC”

There's nothing superlative about this hotel, but it is well located, the beds are very comfortable, free wifi is included, and the decor is elegant enough. The lobby bar seemed well attended, although we never stopped there as this hotel is within walking distance of some very good restaurants and watering holes, and only blocks away from the conference center if that's why you're coming to town in the first place. Downsides are a steep $30 self-parking fee with no in-and-out privileges, and less than stellar housekeeping. The room was clean enough on check-in, but a muddy footprint left beneath the sink by a winter boot remained there for the duration of our stay. The staff were efficient if not overly friendly. All in all, a decent business hotel. Little to complain about, but little to oooh and aaah about either.

Dining
We ate one night at an Asian fusion restaurant, Zentan, just a block away and had an excellent meal. Great lychee martinis and the Black Cod was fabulous! Another night was spent at Mio, also within walking distance, with meaty Puerto Rican dishes augmented with plantains and some beautiful robust reds. There are also a couple of pubs in the area with less rarified atmospheres that would have been fun—if they didn't require long waits!

“coming back with family”

Peculiar location downtown Washington . few minutes from White House and immediate neighborhood. Startling view of Thomas Circle. Exquisite cuisine in lovely venue. Grand lobby in which resting, working at laptop, watching at people entering and going out.

Area recommendations
National Mall, and all the Smithsonian Museums nearby. In the splendid sunny days I enjoied last week jogging or just walking was an extraordinary esperience of independence and liberty.

“Comfy bed, great setup for business people”

Really comfortable bed with good bedding (down comforter). Quiet heat/air. Good power outlet placement, at desk and bedside tables too (except bathroom - weird outlet location). The room was a decent size, a little on the smallish size but fine, nicely decorated, clean. Front desk help is very good. Room service food was terrible (I tried 2x). Bar is nice, quiet, not really full of politicians (unusual for DC hotel bars). Neighborhood was fine, a business district but some nice looking restaurants nearby. Within 2 blocks: Starbucks, liquor store, CVS drugstore, Fedex office (all places I was happy to be near). And the Washington Mall was about a 6 block walk, very doable.

“Enjoyable stay and nice accommodations.”

This is a fine hotel. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. We also had a great breakfast in the restaurant! The bathroom was small but adequate. We would stay there again.

Must see
Mount Vernon. We went the day after Thanksgiving! This year the weather was beautiful. The view of the Potomac was fabulous. The third floor was also open. (The floor is only open for six weeks a year, beginning on Thanksgiving and through the holidays). Seeing this place during this time of year, makes one appreciate the history of our country and provides an experience where we can relate to our founders.
