“sue's review”
the rooms were amazingly well maintained. the location excellent.. we even saw a manatee at the dock... the sunrise from the balcony was amazing. would recommend this hotel to anyone. I plan on returning
“Lovely hotel with great view”
This hotel was very comfortable. My room had a balcony that looked out onto the water - beautiful. Staff were very friendly, and although the room was not luxury, I believe that it represented great value for money. Only negative was that the air conditioning unit was a bit loud and kept me awake a lot at night - but this is easily resolved with a good pair of earplugs.
“Nice complex with a fantastic setting”
For the price we paid for 3 persons for 7 nights, I was extremely pleased with the Bayview Plaza Waterfront Resort - and it really does live up to its name! We were upgraded to apartment 22, which is huge. The exterior appears in some of the photos on this website. The apartment was extremely well equipped and the staff were very very helpful and nice. There is a Walgreens just next to the Bayview Plaza (always a good thing!) and a Publix supermarket very close by. There are no end of restaurants within a mile north of the complex and some nice restaurants in the Pass-a-Grille area too - try the Hurricane Restaurant for seafood and great key lime pie! The wildlife that can be seen right in the complex was great to watch - blue herons, egrets and manatees, for example. The sunsets that can be seen from the beach across the street were nothing short of spectacular and the lightning storms were great to watch from our many-windowed upstairs apartment. There are many attractions within an hours drive of St Pete Beach too. I'd recommend a visit to Myakka River State Park if you fancy seeing alligators in the wild and an airboat ride on Myakka Lake, with it's impressive bird and plant life, as well as the gators! This was my first visit to the Gulf Coast area, although not to Florida and I can't wait until I visit the area again.
“Worth the discounted price”
This little piece of Florida gold was exactly what I needed -- one night, cheap, and near the Grand Plaza. I almost stayed at the HoJo or Best Western down the street, but what I heard from other people in my party -- I'm very happy I chose this place. I didn't pay the advertised normal day rate, so I feel like it was a solid deal. Cute little room that had the A/C on blast when I entered, which was welcomed on a normal hot and humid Florida day. The iron and ironing board were exactly what I needed and didn't ruin my dress, so A+ there. I loved the patio looking over the a little waterway. The fish were literally jumping at 6am. I'd stay here again. note: The place you check-in isn't directly across the street. It's just north a bit -- the hotel lobby has an "internet cafe" sign above it, which is easier to see than the hotel name.
“Will Definitely Stay There Again”
We stayed at Bayview for three weeks in January 2011 and were more than satisfied with our accommodation. We enjoyed being so close to the wonderful transit system and other amenities. It certainly cuts down on expenses when you have a full kitchen and can prepare some of your meals. It was convenient having a free internet site at our elbow. Looking forward to returning perhaps next winter.
“landscaping and remodel should improve. newer upgrade needed in furniture needed.”
as above. staff very nice and cleaning was immaculate of the room . only reason we stayed. next door to Gigi's was very good bonus for sure!
“Great Bargain”
Can't beat the price, and the staff are helpful. Enjoyed the stay here.
“Very sweet and affordable environment-friendly hotel.”
We arrived late around 9pm the guy at the reception was very nice. He said he will just give me the key and we had to do the paperwork for check-in the next day. No big deal. The room we had was small but most wonderful. Way better than I had expected. The bed was comfy and there was a small kitchen and a table with two chairs. The balcony had two comfy sun-chairs and was just a few steps away from the bay. I loved waking up to that view. At the bay there was a deck leading over the water with chairs and a huge umbrella and you can just sit there and drink or fish or both. Also there's free wireless internet that you can use in and around the hotel. Parking is very scarce one night we had to park at the Walgreens next door because all the parking slots were taken. Two minor setbacks: 1. the air-conditioner vent was right above the bed and super loud. 2. The swimming-pool at this hotel is tiny. But what's nice is that you are allowed to use all the other facilities of the other hotels that belong to this one. For instance at the main hotel where you will check in there was a larger pool and free beer and wine offered everyday from 4-5pm. I simply loved that the hotel was a green hotel. The hotel personel was extremely nice and helpful at all times. I would go back there anytime!
“Would go back”
It's a nice enough place. Friendly and mostly helpfull staff. Except for not repairing the constantly running and flushing toilet
“Good deal for the money”
Management on site every day to address any concerns. Management fixed little issue in the room in 5 min. Clean, a bit outdated, across the street from the beach, WiFi, and most important certified GREEN hotel. Tight on parking. Would stay again. After all we came there for Ocean and sunsets not room decorations :-)
