Nice hotel with very good facilities. Showing its age in some areas - but more than made up for by friendly and efficient staff. Room was clean and well serviced. The restaurant staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Good central base for Newport/Cardiff and Brecon Beacons. Will definitely visit again. The hotel managed a very large wedding party during our stay without us feeling overwhelmed by it.

What a warm welcome we received from staff at the hotel. By the end of the stay we were on first name terms. The level of customer service was really high and nothing appeared too much bother. The dog-friendliness of the hotel was amazing and the best by far that we have stayed in with dogs being allowed EVERYWHERE. The food was excellent - both dinner, snacks and breakfast - in fact the welsh rarebit is the best I have ever tasted. There was a good selection of wines available and some nice whiskeys for those who love it.
The rooms were a really good size and the beds were really comfortable. Although there was a boiler problem during our stay, this was sorted out quickly.

We had one night at the Hall to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful visit.
Every feature of this hotel is perfect. The rooms end bathrooms have all been refurbished to the highest standard. The restaraunt serves Michelin standard food which, although expensive. Is worth every penny .
We definitely will stay there again and would recommend the hotel without hesitation.

This is an excellent place if you are visiting Cardiff or the areas around and need to stop somewhere that is quiet and well appointed. The beds and bedrooms are great and the staff are very accommodating.

The hotel's vision could not be more appropriate since it surpassed our expectations. There is a lovely homely atmosphere in the hotel and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The Angel is well run and organised and the staff are friendly, efficient and conscientious. Basically it is a hotel were you are well looked after. Diolch yn Fawr.
