“Difficult to find”
Once we located the hotel it was a very good experience however the street address and the actual location differ plus the signage is not as visable as it could be. This does make it difficult to locate when one is driving around and arouns the area trying to locate it. To be fair therte is a lote of redevelopment beeing undertaken in the area and this could be a possible cause with road layouts being altered and landscaping changing some of the visual aspects of the area. A large number of cafes, resturants and bars are available nearby at Cardiff Bay, all within easy walking distance.
“comfortable big rooms”
The rooms were big and confortable with also free carpark. The receptionists need more training as we were misimformed about the breakfast deal consequently we had elswhere. Also they did not convey the correct info about the internet. The position of the hotel was very pleasant, safe and quite, and had good access by train to the city not far away.
“Cardiff Bay Value”
Bit difficult to find the road in when arriving on a dark wet night so best to check the directions before setting off! A modern hotel and our room was spacious and well furnished, two large double beds and still plenty of space. Our room overlooked the road and there was a bit of traffic noise but not to intrusive. The staff were friendly and helpful and dealt with a problem in a satisfactory manner although I would have expected a bit more concern on their part considering I had injured myself on a bracket that had been left protruding from the bed frame. We took advantage of the reduced price for breakfast if booked the night before; it was the standard buffet and of satisfactory quality but not worth the full price. We had dinner in the restaurant, very friendly and attentive staff and the food was satisfactory and reasonably priced. The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring both the city centre and Cardiff Bay. Overall this hotel was good value for the money and we would use it again
“Excellent”
Helpfulmstaff, good location and really excellent hotel. I don't normally respond to reviews , but very happy and will return
“Great Value”
Great location for Cardiff Bay with very good rooms at a very attractive price.
“Will definitely stay here again”
Nice Hotel, Ideal location, 5 minute walk from Millennium Centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean. We had 2 queen sized beds in the room (which I believe is standard) plenty of tea and coffee. The tv even has a juke box! Lovely shower. Would recommend the hot chocolate and welsh cake in the hotel bar.
“Good but not perfect”
Hotel was OK when we found it, being a bit on the edge of the town away from the city centre; and was especially quiet as no sporting fixtures were going on. We had to complain about the room not being cleaned one day, but only once. Breakfast looked OK, but we chose to eat in local bars and restaurants by the bay each morning, then went in to the centre for each day. The area was quieter than expected, but the Bay area was really nice when quiet. Took Aquabus trip to the Castle, which was a pleasant surprise for cost and friendly commentary. The area will be even better when the number of tourists increase; filling the many bay amenities.
“Cardiff”
Had a wonderful visit! Loved the room, very comfy beds and nice shower area. I would definately stay there again!
“Jenni's Cardiff Experience”
My husband, friend and I had a wonderful time at Future Inns Cardiff Bay. The location was ideal for the trip we had planned. It was directly across the parking lot from one restaurant, sat adjacent to another, and was a short couple of minutes' walk to the bus stop, shopping, additional restaurants, and Cardiff Bay itself. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the amenities were many. The room was spacious and comfortable, and had internet access both via DSL and a TV/Internet connection so two people could use it at once. The tub was amazing, the bathroom was structured in order to allow privacy to the whole room or just the toilet with one door, and the hotel itself was very quiet. It was a short 5-10 minute bus ride into City Centre, to Cardiff Central Station, and about 20 minutes by taxi to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the area, and especially to Doctor Who or Torchwood fans. They'll understand what I mean when I say the "Rift" is withing walking distance. ;)
“Clean and comfortble but very basic”
First impressions were not great - there was a problem with our keycard and while I descended 6 floors to go to Reception, my husband was let into our room by a member of staff who didn't think to either show him how the keycard worked or to look into the problem. In the end, I called Reception from our room and got them to climb the stairs to check the lock which turned out to need reprogramming. There were also problems with cleaning staff not replenishing the refreshment facilitiesand putting dirty mugs back onto the tray as if they were clean. Again, a swift call to Reception got the problem sorted, but it would have been better not to have had to make the call in the first place! Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable. We were offered an upgrade to have breakfast at £12 per head, but we declined. In the morning, we were glad to have done so - the cooked breakfast looked like it was just a buffet and there were rather long queues! We found a lovely French brasserie on Mermaid Quay that did delicious breakfasts at half that price.
