We had horrible weather ! The courteous staff made up for the lack of sunshine. We had lunch in their restaurant. Good food great service . A little disappointed in breakfast brunch. The place has old world charm. Spotless!
Very comfortable with lots of charming features. Staff was excellent and the breakfast, while not a full scale buffet, was a nice combination of hot and cold items. About a 5-10 minute walk to the center of town. A couple of drinks in the lounge was also a pleasant experience with a friendly bartender and other patrons.
This hotel puts it's money where you are going to appreciate it - your room. There isn't a huge lobby that you will walk through in 30 seconds and never see again. I don't think there is a pool or exercise room. But the entire place is decorated in modern gorgeous, the rooms are huge, and even have washer and dryer. How about a 55 inch LG flatscreen? Yes. Huge windows let in tons of light and make for beautiful vistas of Saratoga. If you want to workout go to the gym. Here you are in the very heart of Saratoga and there is so much else to do that you won't be spending time in a pool anyway.
We booked the train from NYC to Montreal and were looking for a place to stay in between. I stumbled on the Saratoga Arms and I will do it again.
Great spot right downtown not far from Congress Park and a famous underground railroad entry point. The author of Twelve Years a Slave, Solomon Northrup, was born and died a free man here. Locals were free with history lessons and interesting observations. This was obviously built as a party spot for the Yankee bluebloods after the Revolutionary War. NY society still attends the horses races here, but the section of town that was once solid brothel is considerably tamer now.
The staff was great and we walked to everything including the POst Iffice next door and ta great Italian Restaurant a block away.
