“Not bad, good price”
Well located, free parking, free internet, not de best breakfast but it was ok. Comfortable room although the beds were too soft. It is ok for the price.
“Functional budget-oriented rooms with nice added touches”
Mom, Dad, a 2 and a 6 year old, traveled to Santa Barbara to meet up with grandparents for kid-time (wharf, zoo, mission). We wanted something clean, relatively quiet, and budget-priced for 3 nights prior to a holiday weekend. We had the two-room "suite" for the 4 of us. It wasn't really a suite, but the extra room/beds for the kids to sleep and play in was so worth it. On request at check in, the staff put us next to the grandparents' handicapped single room, near the office/breakfast area. So, our suite was also a handicapped room and very roomy, although no tub for the kids. The staff was also accommodating in providing an infant crib at no extra charge after our first night (toddler got mobile in the night and ended up stuck under a nightstand). I had no issues with cleanliness in either room, even under the aforementioned nightstand, which I got a good look at. Free breakfast was typical morning fare for our family (cereal, pastries, coffee, juice, milk). Wifi was slow and difficult at times and the heavy drapes had to be open to connect. Considering our proximity to the office, this was a surprise. Noise wasn't bad, but we could clearly hear the doors around and above us slamming at whatever hour. Luckily no one was partying it up. The area just off State is residential middle class and seemed quite safe (Whole Foods is a few blocks away - they don't put those in bad 'hoods). In-room cable, coffee, hair dryer, fridge, etc. All in all, I'd stay here again.
“very happy, would go back”
Very nice for the price. Great location. Clean and maintained well. Would definitely recommend.
“Wonderful Remodel of Older Motel”
Upgraded older motel on upper State Street within walking distance to some restaurants and shopping. Great service and breakfast. Rooms very well furnished with flat screen TVs and classy furnishings. About three miles from downtown but a pleasant drive. Small pool and exercise room. Some covered parking. Great value.
“Paper thin walls”
We were down in Santa Barbara to visit our son who attends SBC. The hotel was a little further away, but we thought it would be good to be away from all the students. Mistake. We were up all night, both nights of our stay. Party, Party,Party. Right outside our window, right next door, right upstairs. Not the place to get any sleep!!! Beds were too soft as well.
“Friendly staff”
Very friendly staff, clean rooms, wifi and parking. The continental breakfast was fine (good almond croissants!). On the minus side, the hotel is not too close to the center of the action in Santa Barbara (you need a car), and the air conditioning/heating is through one of these noisy standalone units... But those are found in a large fraction of the hotel rooms in this price range. Overall, it was a good deal.
“Santa Barbara okay”
Really a motel, not an issue if you're visiting family and transport is layed on otherwise a lack of motorised transport could present problems. A few questions at Reception, usually quite helpful, and you'll find the bus stops a short way to the left of the Lodge ready to speed you Downtown, the shops and sights.
“Value of money”
We found this hotel to be value for money even offering the use of a printer with business computer.
“Good but shop around”
Great condition of room but a little expensive. We booked online and didn't shop around. There are so many hotels/motels in this area I am sure you can find something cheaper in the area.
“Ron”
