“Would stay again when in San Diego.”
Resort is located down only a 5 minute walk from the coast. Resort was fairly large and the pool area was superb. Rooms were large and comfortable and very clean and free parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole resort was always being tended to by ground staff to keep it looking good. Only small thing I wasn't impressed with was the in room internet through the TV. Was slow and some sites wouldn't open, but only a small moan. Compared to Downtown San Diego, this is the area I would recommed staying in.
“FIRST CLASS ON A BUDGET”
CAN NOT FAULT THE HOTEL OR STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL AT ALL TIMES
“nice hotel, value for money”
nice holiday hotel with spacious rooms and good location. Restaurant food was good and fairly priced. Lots of families with small children.
“Very good, if a little impersonal, as quite a large resort.”
Good hotel, and good value for the facilities provided. Be prepared to be in a large hotel, so it's slightly impersonal, but appeared well run. We stayed in the far end block of rooms on 3rd floor, and room was very large with secluded balcony.Smimming and whirl pool were both pleasant.Downside was the private beach which we thought was awful and water did not look clean, would not swim there. Hotel was well located to walk to Mission & Ocean Beaches. Drive to the town centre of San Diego easy and only about 10-15 mins. We ate in cafe and were very satisfied with the food, also had room service which again was satisfactory. Overall, we would go back again.
“Well located, comfortable hotel.”
The hotel was well laid out and everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was perfectly positioned, with good access to beach, shops, etc. and yet secluded within its own grounds. The only negative comment I have is that it could do with modernising / decorating, although everything was very clean.
“Good value accommodation”
We stayed at this hotel in January 2009 and overall were very pleased with the size and standard of accommodation.
“Enjoyable stay”
Bahia Resort is slightly old fashioned but has plenty to offer. It's well situated on Mission Bay, with an easy walk to Mission Beach. Hotel has large pool and hot tub, gym, free parking and free wireless. Easy drive to Sea World and into the city. Bike hire at hotel (or at nearby outlets) for rides along boardwalk to La Jolla or around Mission Bay. Hotel staff helpful. Food average.
“Great Location, Good Hotel”
Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our trip to Cali. On arrival, reception was very helpful and friendly and were soon in our room. Great to have free parking and grounds are beautiful and well kept. Hotel was pretty much empty being Dec. As others have said, decor is a little out-dated but more than adequate, kitchenette a little poor, gf nearly burnt herself with borken kettle! I think they are renovating some rooms. Great balcony and view of mission bay and nice private beach. Within touching distance to mission beach, would love to return in summer!
“Not good value for money”
we travelled down the west coast for 2 weeks during April! we booked our last 4 nights at the Bahia, it was the most expensive part of our trip but we throught it would be worth it! however we were very disappointed! Although the hotel was 'nice' it wasnt in our opnion worth the money we paid - compared with other places we stayed during our trip! we had a bay view room and although the view was lovely we didnt think much to the beach outside our door! Neither were we impressed with the quaility of the bathroom, very small and in need of a revamp! We thought the bar was expensive and the breakfast was a waste of money too! On a positive note it is close to Sea world. Also the "sand bar sports grill"-a short walk away is good for bar food and drinks! Remember your ID if you are under 30ish!
