Nice older hotel close to my conference location.

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: An older hotel, but convenient to the conference I was attending - and had reasonable rates for a nice clean room!!
Cons: Not much, considering the age of the hotel.
Location: Interesting, multi-ethnic area, good small restaurants, small shops.
Pleasing experience!! Friendly staff, ample space for what I needed, clean, and economical.

Did not stay after viewing room.

Spouse did not like anything about room assignment. Radiator heat, street noise, bathroom etc. Selected hotel diva next door. Much better.

Cheap accommodation, great location

Posted 19-Apr-2015
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Tea and coffee making facilities
Location: Just off Union square, two minute walk to the cable cars and plenty of bus routes near by
I have to say when we turned up at this hotel the guy on reception could of been friendlier! But everyone else on reception through the week was very friendly. The double room was small but functional with its own toilet and shower. The tv reception was very poor, but you don't go to San Fransisco to watch tv! We had clean towels and the bed made up every day which was nice. The only thing missing for me was basic facilities to make a tea of coffee in the morning. Don't book this hotel expecting anything fancy, it's a clean place to lay your head after a long day in the city, if you want more you will have to pay more.

Well located for budget hotel

Posted 21-Mar-2015
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Upgrading the windows would cut down on street noise.
Location: Great location. Breakfasts (or evening drinking) at Lefty O'Doules, 2 blocks to Union Square, 2 more to China Town, easy walk to Moscone Center
This is a budget hotel, make no mistakes, but it meets basic requirements. Very well located and decently priced. Small rooms are clean and well kept. Wife crawled all over worried about bed bugs, but everything was very clean. Small hard pillows, but fair beds, recently renovated bathroom. Sink and mirror in room, not in bathroom. Ancient tube TV. Very noisy outside at night, mostly because of a 4-5 member crew of dealers across the street laughing and talking loudly from late evening until about 5.30AM (on two consecutive weekdays). Lot of traffic noise and cheap single pane windows don't keep much of it out. I recommend getting a higher floor to get away from the noise as much as possible. We stayed with our two teenagers for a couple of days in March 2015. Would stay there again because of price and excellent location. Several parking garages very close. No breakfast at hotel, but many restaurants close. For my own money it was a good deal. If I was on a budget I could consider staying here on a business trip too. The room had a good desk and surprisingly good internet.

I could not even spend one night there.

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything.
Location: It's right downtown, one block from Union Square.
I didn't expect something like that: - the smell of kitchen from the restaurant next door right in the lobby was annoying, and on the upper floors was unbearable; - a turist in front of me walked towards the elevator and started screaming when she saw the cockroaches; - the room was old and run-down, not old and cozy, with big whitewash light; - the toilet seat right in front of the bed, crammed together with a really small and darkish shower in what looked like a small closet; - on the bed, the mattress and the covers were so bad and thin respectively that you could see the mattress' springs shape from above the cover. I used to travel sleeping in parks and train stations, but I thought that for $120/night, even in san francisco downtown, one could have expected a minimum of decency. I checked out without spending even one night there, and moved right to the hotel next door - a little more expensive but incredibly better - even at the price of losing the first night.

Functional Hotel; can be chosen wen no other choic

Posted 20-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Just a functional hotel in the middle of the city. They charged a lot for location and due to conference.
