“Awesome SF downtown Hotel”
Having stayed at a few downtown SF hotels now this one beats the rest, and it may not have the spectacular views of the Westin's but it oozes sophistication and polish, is reasonably priced and unlike like many SF hotels has great engaged employee's.
“SF place to stay”
This hotel is perfect. Great large windows. Nice views. Walking distance from everything. I have stayed in hotels all over the city and this one is the best!
“Fine but nothing special”
We booked this hotel as a last minute mystery hotel and were initially quite excited. The staff we encountered were friendly and there is a nice bar and foyer area as you enter. The location is convenient enough to the Union Square area and nearby shops although not quite in the thick of it (but really we had no issue with location at all). The room however was nothing special and a bit of a let down. Yes, it was clean and had all the hallmarks of stock standard chain hotel about it, but was rather smaller than we expected (also given we had a child with us), and the bed seemed smaller than usually offered in a hotel of this type. The room itself was a little oddly shaped in the corner area of the hotel. It was perfectly fine for one night's stay but there are no doubt other hotels in that price range in San Francisco, which offer rooms that are bit more special and memorable. Parking is by valet only and is incredibly expensive. instead, use one of the privately run stations across the road. We paid $10/day instead of about $50.
“Truly 5 star!”
We had a great stay at this hotel. Our room was very spacious with a fantastic view from the 22nd floor. It is conveniently located. Close enough to walk to the main shopping and food places but far enough to have peace and quiet after a long day. It would have been nice though if the internet is free. In some high end hotels we've stayed, internet is complimentary. Regardless, I rate this hotel as 5 star in terms of service and cleanliness. I'll stay here again next time I go to San Francisco.
“Beautiful hotel next to convention center”
It is a beautiful hotel close to Bloomdingdales, Nordstrom and the convention center. Seems to be right on the edge of the acceptable neighborhoods. Easy walk to Bart during the day. Used the Expedia unpublished rates and was very happy with the rate and hotel, it was an incredible deal
“Good location but not a quality intercontinental”
For the price and name you expect more. It has a medicore rooms and rest room like a holiday inn near an airport. Water saving equipment that would make your morning shaving and brushing your teeth is lengthy and painful. cheap but okay furniture. I wouldn't stay there again unless I couldn't find rooms any where else
“Nice place in San Fran”
A good hotel. I run hotels for a living, so I'm a little biased, but this one was just fine. Nothing blew me away, nothing disappointed me.
“Nice modern hotel”
We really enjoyed our stay at the intercontinental. It was extremely comfortable and clean. The only things to note are that the rooms with two beds have double beds, not queens (common in San Francisco, but still tight for four guests) and like most "fancy" hotels the in-room pricing is insane. A bottle of Fuji water is $8 (I mean come on!). So we brought water from a liquor store down the street and in the morning got our coffee at Starbucks to avoid the $10 room service charge (+$3 delivery & 18% gratuity + tax). So our couple of cups of coffee would have been $16. But this seems to be the norm with "fancy" hotels. And we got a great "hidden" rate through Expedia compared to what we found elsewhere.
“Great hotel for family”
Nice and close to Union Square, plenty of eating options but the best value is go down to the bottom level of Bloomingdales, the food is cheap and really really nice, my favorite, Coriander. Great Pad Thai and Green curry. Dorion gave us loads of info for our next stop in LA, he was so helpful and very very friendly, take the town car to the airport rather than a taxi it's only $45 and much nicer option.
“Dirty room”
Heard great things about this hotel. Great location, comfortable bed...but it seems they short cutted cleaning our room. Found shopping boxes in the room from previous person. Found clumps of brown hair stuck on the shower wall, and the toilet looked like it had not been scrubbed that week. Pretty gross!
