We had a brilliant holiday and I have no criticisms about the hotel and the staff. If you want to explore on foot outside the hotel area then you will find it is along way to any villages etc.
We were on a relaxing break so stayed at the resort and were not disappointed.
When we arrived late at night, we were exhausted and half asleep. We checked in at Reception, which was quick and effortless. They actually told us we had been upgraded to a better room, one overlooking the sea. We then left our bags with reception and had dinner in the main hotel, which was amazing. We then took a buggy down to our room and found our many bags were already there. The rooms were breathtaking, very spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean and had fresh towels already laid out, the fridge was stocked with cold drinks and the beds were made. The beds were extremely comfortable and we slept well at night. In the morning the sun rises over the main hotel and we had a beautiful view of the sunset from our balcony. Depending on your location it can be quite a hike up to breakfast but it's worth it as the food is 10/10. We were very impressed by the standard in the main restaurant, which is self-serve. They have a huge variety and even the most fussy eater would find something they like. The kitchen and bar staff were incredible and very kind.
There's always something to do, we were certainly never bored. During the day you can eat and drink in any of the 11 restaurants including a pastry corner, a sushi restaurant and a floating island bar. The beach is also very nice although it was a bit crowded and there was alot of litter. There are around 15 pools (all of which are saltwater), and every one of them was big and not too deep, about 1.5m.
From the minute we arrived at the hotel we were looked after brilliantly. Nothing was too much for the staff and when something actually went wrong in the room (the shower head broke) it was fixed within 15 minutes. The whole hotel is kept very clean and tidy with staff available to you at all times. We went half board and the food available at breakfast and dinner was brilliant with a huge variety
We have 2 teenage children and being allowed to use the facilities at the two other larger hotels on the campus and with the private beach within a 2 minute walk meant that they were never bored. However, we then all enjoyed the very tranquil and very personal feel of the Lakitira suites
We stayed for 11 days and were very, very happy during our stay and very sad to leave. We have never been back to the same hotel twice but in this case we are very tempted.
Not much to add that others haven't done already. Suffice to say that if you intend going to Kardemena you MUST stay at this hotel.
Taz the barman is the best. So very helpful, friendly and makes lovely drinks. Ask for his special cocktail, its not on the list but one leads to another......
Natalie makes wonderful fresh food, all cooked from scratch and well worth the wait. And the BBQ night is well worth the money, lots of fresh salad, pitta bread, tzatsiki and fresh kebabs.
The hotel itself is beautiful, the gardens and rooms are well looked after. Beautiful plants and trees adorn the two courtyards and the bedrooms are clean and fresh.
Some of our group said the aircon could have been stronger but others said they had to turn theirs down so I think it depends on where your room is in relation to the sun.
All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. It is definitely worthy of more than two stars!

Staying at Marina Apartments was perfectly ideal for me. The location was a short 5 minute walk into town and away from all the noise at night. Marina is very helpful and greets you when you arrive from the airport. The rooms are spacious and fit the criteria I was looking for. Would recommend for couples, singles and families.

This is a beautiful resort! The gardens are immaculate as is the entire resort and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Considering it is such a huge place, staff remembered us and quickly accommodated our requirements, even remembering our favourite evening drinks. Staff in the main restaurant are lovely and the food is amazing. The buffet style dining provides a wide range of options of both hot and cold dishes, everything is fresh and plentiful.
The little mini market has a wide range of products from cotton buds to cold beer, pencil sharpeners to pomegranates and the staff, again, are really friendly and helpful.
There is a friendly calm family atmosphere around the resort with plenty to do if you are that way inclined but no pressure to be active if you prefer a lazy beach and pool day. Each pool offers a different atmosphere with aqua aerobics and water polo for anyone who wants to join in at some or a quiet dip for the serious sunbathers at others.
Our room was clean and comfortable and set in a small block of eight appartment with views across the gardens and down to the sea. The resident little owl appeared daily and we had several sightings of a barn owl at night.
The sports facilities are great. We hired bikes for the day and had a very enjoyable ride to Kos Town and back. Most of the road runs alongside the beach so you can always stop for a dip when it gets too hot - which it will!
We would definitely recommend this resort to friends and family.
