Rundown and unfriendly staff.

Posted 28-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Needs a remodel and staff with a personality.
Hotel is less expensive than everything around it for a reason, it is rundown and old, in desperate need of a remodel. Shower didn't work and TV not even HD. Changed to the Embassy Suites nearby, what a relief.

OK hotel near John Wayne Airport

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Overall the hotel was good, but our experience was sub-standard. We called ahead to let then know we were arriving late, and they took our name like it was no trouble. After an exhausting day at Disneyland and the cab ride making everyone sleepy we arrived. We got our own luggage in with no help, and we waited up front for longer than expected while the kids slept on the couch. The desk clerk pops up and can't seem to find our Expedia reservation. So instead of letting us into a room because it was late, we waited while he "dug through files in the back." Is there a room or not? We can figure out the paperwork while my family goes to sleep, but we discussed the issues for at least 20 minutes before finally giving us a key. The room was good and clean, but as per most in Cali the A/C always seems like a humidifier. There were rowdy neighbors that were no fault of the hotels, but the trendy feel of the hotel encouraged it. We wake up, and while the pool was good, we were told you need vouchers to eat, but we didn't get any. We said forget it and we would eat at the airport. The wifi, like most in Cali, was completely non-functioning. The biggest problem I had with the hotel is that it seems very snooty, and yet when I printed our boarding passes WE HAD TO PAY FOR INTERNET BY THE MINUTE...really? And it was $1 a page to print? I got into my email and printed in under 2 minutes but heaven help you if the website is slow. The shuttle service was very good, and on demand.

Very nice hotel very close to the OC airport

Everything was great except no internet cafe for travelers to check in for flights and print boarding passes. You only have a "business center" that costs money to use. Very inconvenient.

Not as High-End as I was expecting

Posted 25-Jun-2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Needs remodeling
Location: Across from John Wayne airport
The staff and the lobby make up for all that this hotel lacks. But, unfortunately I won't return. The room was very old and dated. The fixtures in the bathroom and everything within the room was old and the place could use a badly needed remodel.

Nice hotel - unexpected charges

Posted 18-Jun-2015
Pros: The hotel was nice.
Cons: Clearly identifying charges in writing and in advance.
Nice hotel. They placed an additional $100 hold on credit card ($50 x 2 rooms) that was not anticipated. Need to put that [additional $50 per room additional charge] on Expedia site to avoid unpleasant experience when checking in. The $100 was not charged at checkout -- but could be charged to my credit card over the next couple of days -- and I spent the night upset about it. And, the statement, "The above list may not be comprehensive. Fees and deposits may not include tax and are subject to change." did not make me feel any better. Why cause unpleasant situations that could be avoided by specifying this set charge clearly?

Pros: Its closeness to the airport.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of. Maybe if anything the furniture in the lobby could be updated. Nothing wrong with it. Just looked a bit tired, dated.
Mine was a short stay. Very comfortable, clean hotel. Would have not problem recommending it to anyone. The restaurant food was excellent as was the service.
