Good hotel closer airport

Posted 20-Nov-2014
I agree with most of the other reviews. The lobby and pool are very nice. The hallways to the rooms are worn and appear outdated. My room was clean though and everything was fine. I thought it was fairly quiet and comfortable. The price is right. Staff was friendly.

Across the street from the airport.

Posted 05-Nov-2014
The Atrium is immediately across Mac Arthur Boulevard from John Wayne Airport. The breakfast is decent but not fancy. The staff is helpful and pleasant. The rooms are clean and spacious despite being in an older building for Irvine. The OCTA bus system has several stops nearby which allow one to travel cheaply throughout Orange County ($5 gets you an all day pass). There are several nearby restaurants. We have stayed here three times and will return.

Resort feel within walking distance of airport

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Nice rooms, really nice poolside cabanas surrounded by palms with moodlighting at night, felt like vip pool at a resort. Bathtubs in the rooms were tiny, but, that was the only drawback. Literally two minute walk to the airport. Excellent value.

Fast Trip

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Pros: patio area...bartender Sammy was just one fantastic person. Lots of conversation and fun to visit with
Very surprised and pleased that the hotel was more than I expected....9 flights in 5 days made it worth the trip. The pool area is relaxing and refreshing

Pleasant stay

We had a very pleasant stay at the Atrium Hotel. Room was comfortable and quiet. Thanks for a complimentary breakfast. It was close to the airport with a fast and easy shuttle ride to the departure terminal.

Hotel info is out of date

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: It was nice having a restaurant on site with good food and pleasant servers. An added plus is the free shuttle within a 3 mile radius.
Cons: Possibly changing their archaic rules and definitely updating their in room information.
Location: The location is very close to the airport which is handy, otherwise there is nothing too interesting within walking distance.
The hotel information booklet in the room was about 7 years out of date. They talk about the gift shop, which hasn't been there for 7 years and the price of the hotel parking was not accurate. We wanted to use some champagne glasses or wine glasses to celebrate an occasion and the told us if we drank our champagne on their property we would be evicted and our money would not be returned. This seemed rather heavy handed and intimidating and definitely not guest friendly. We went to a friend's hotel nearby and drank it there. They have a liquor license and bars so I don't quite understand the problem.
