“Good Value”

The La Quinta Inn is convenient to Manhattan - 3 short blocks to the 40th Street station and six stops from Grand Central Station on the 7 line. It was clean and comfortable and the neighborhood, although not exactly beautiful, is safe. All in all, an excellent value.

“5 minutes walk to the subway, and 10 minutes subway to timesquare.”

the hotel was nice. We were 4 in the same room, and it was large enough. Free breakfeast in the morning ( egg, bagel, muffin, sausage, donut, cereals) fair enough! Free parking, but limited. but it's not a real problem, you have a lot of parking in the street surround. Very close to timesquare for a hotel outside the city.

“Convenient and clean”

Is not the most service oriented staff, but taking in consideration the room rates, the location (only 5 min walk to the nearest subway station that is 10 min away from central station manhattan, good breakfast and a clean room and facilities. It's a great bang for the buck if you are visiting the city. If you stay in manhattan you will be paying 200 dollars more for the same quality.

“Great restaurants nearby”

View of the #7 train. Fortunately the train is very quiet at this location. Bare-bones amenities but for the budget conscious traveler a decent choice. Breakfast is OK if you are desperate. I ate in Manhattan for two of four breakfasts. #7 will take you into town easy enough. One morning the rain was heavy so I got a hire car. Cheaper than cab and convenient but you have to pay cash.

Several restaurants around 40th St. Two blocks east. I really enjoyed the Turkish Grill first night there. Ate in Manhattan other four evening meals. Several local restaurants looked interesting. A businessman returning home on train gave me suggestions, he said that there were good ones right there. He was right. I chose the Turkish restaurant just because it was different. It was very good. I wish I had time to try the Thai, Romanian, Japanese and Italian restaurants right nearby but business kept me in Manhattan.

“Good for Price”

I stayed one night, one weekend as a retreat. Checking in and out was smooth, no troubles. 7 train is two blocks away, and there is a nice McDonald's next door. Rooms were fine with me, though the TV had some static scratches, but I could still watch shows. The continental breakfast was not bad, either, but be there early or stay a while because tables get taken fast and the foods vanish (but they get replaced often). Note: The shower confused me at first. You just have to pull down the gold part from the nozzle (not the handle) and the water will divert to the shower. lol Free toothbrushes! Overall, good experience with the hotel.

It's right next to the 7 train, which can take you to either Manhattan or the rest of Queens... both great places to explore!

“A good hotel near Manhattan”

Excellent location-2 sub stations close to the hotel (we used the 33 st. station)-about 5 minute walk. A good and rich breakfast. A very friendly and helpful staff. A Laundromat 2 minutes walk across the street. There was a smell in our room. The room was small.
