“Perfect Boutique Hotel”

The Renaissance Hotel in Times Square is the perfect location for shopping, seeing the ball drop, close to great resteraunts and bars, the Hershey store, and the M&M store! We could walk to Macy's, Forever XXI, theatres and more. There was a Starbucks on every corner and right next door to the hotel was a Jamba Juice. It was also close to a McDonalds and a few pizza places for a quick bite. The hotel was very overpriced for breakfast, we paid $90 just for 2 omelettes. However, New York City is overpriced in general so this was no big suprise. Drinks at the hotel were also $15 each. Upon arriving the bellman who brought our bags to our room was aware that is was my husbands BIrthday so he brought up some cocktails on the house in celebration. This was such a nice touch, and showed that they do go the extra mile. Times Square is its busiest on the weekends, making it difficult to walk around, fighting crowds. I would recomend this hotel if you are looking to stay during the week knowing now that the weekend is so busy outside of the hotel.

Area recommendations

SoHo and Grenich Village was our favorite places to go during this trip. The Meatball Shop in Grenich Village was awesome!

“Great location”

Located right in the middle of times square with a cocktail lounge over looking the main attraction. 2 blocks away from 5th Avenue shopping and 2 blocks 9th st which has hundreds of different resturants. Its a 15min walk to the edge of central park or the subway station is located on the hotels corner which can take you where ever you need to go. The hotel was as you would expect for the price: clean, well maintained, great location, freindly professonal staff. The Taxi from JFK to hotel or hotel to JFK was a fixed price set by the city, ($51 at the time) Would stay there again or recommend to anyone visiting NY for a holiday.

“Location!”

This hotel is all about the location. If you want to stay in Times Square then this is a good choice. The hotel its self is average.

Area recommendations

I like the upper west side. Its not as busy and theres a lot to do there. Its also a really short cab ride to the Times square (you can walk also if you stay closer to the mid-town area) and other tourist areas if thats what you are looking for. I think its the best of both worlds there.

I thought Wicked was one of the best Broadway shows Ive seen.

“best location in nyc”

we had an excellent stay at this hotel it couldn't have been a better location right in the middle of times square!! It was extremely clean and very well maintained! Staff were very friendly and helpful and the surroundings were lovely. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on food but if it is anything like the rest of the hotel i am sure it would very good . Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and the next time i go back to New York City the Renaissance Hotel is were we will be staying!!

“Would go back to the Renaissance Hotel it was great.”

My freind & I had a great holiday,the only problem we had was hurricaine Irene both our name sake.The hotel & staff were just great nothing was any trouble to them when you asked them for help in getting a round.The bedrooms were perfect clean sheets on the beds everyday & clean towels as well.We thank them for a making it a great holiday.

“Perfect Location”

This hotel has the best spot in New York if you are looking to be right in the mix of things. Everything was as we expected although the check in staff and front desk staff could have been more attentive. The 'Navigators' were excellent and had an answer for every question we asked. Very helpful.
