“Wonderful Hotel”

I was here on business and stayed for a week. The hotel staff was great, friendly, and the maid cleaned daily. The location was a pleasent asian area, with easy assess to every location. I will stay at the hotel everytime I am in the area on business.

“Not impressed”

Bathroom sink had hair all over it and the carpet in the room was not vacuumed. There were only sheet on the bed and the small blanket that was supplied at the end of the bed was folded for the reason that when it was opened up there were holes in it.. Continental breakfast was coffee and stale eggo waffles. Would not stay here again.

“reminds me of some european hotels.”

Interesting little hotel. At first glance it seems off-putting but it turned out to be solid. Good location, parking under the building is secure, you're right next to a police substation, and the A/C cranked. Not the Ritz but the price was well worth it.

“"Great place to stay"”

Great place to stay when visiting northeastern Queens...and only a 10-minute train ride to Manhattan. Very convenient.

“Lots of amenities for the cost...but a bit of a ways from Downtown NYC”

The Anchor Inn was a great place to stay. For the price of my room I got a larger room than expected with a mini-fridge and a couch with pull-out bed. The hotel is located right next to the NYPD so I felt safe...the only real problem I had with this hotel is its distance from downtown NYC. I wasn't as familiar with NYC as I am now when I booked this hotel so I thought there was local subway service to Manhattan. There isn't. This hotel is located in Bayside, Queens, so if you are not driving (I didn't want to rent a car) you need to take the bus to Flushing and connect on the 7 train inbound to Times Square. Other than that the neighborhood was incredibly clean, safe, and beautiful, as was the hotel. There was even a FREE "business center"--a computer with internet access with printer. Also, they have a very nice fitness center. If you're willing to stay a bit farther from downtown, then definitely choose the Anchor Inn.

Area recommendations
Bayside was nice, but really catered to the local residents. Flushing has more to see.

“Okay until disappointing breakfast buffet”

Room was small, but at least it was quiet and the bed was fine. In the morning, however, I was disappointed by the breakfast "buffet" -- a couple of pre-made waffles, a few blueberry muffins and a few plain bagels, plus three choices of cold cereal and some oddly foamy orange juice.Thank god Starbucks was right across the street. It was in a good location, however, and had a good price. I would recommend it for the location, but would warn people about the breakfast.

“It was ok”

the only things I did not like were the bed was too hard and being on the street side it was very noisey from the traffic.

“Far but cheap”

The hotel was pretty good, the only problem was the location... about 1 hour away from Manhattan. It could have been quicker to get to the city if we caught the express train but it was pretty expensive so in order to get to the subway we had to catch a bus... much cheaper though $2.25 Vs $18. The people were nice, hotel was cheap, safe and clean. Breakfast could have been better (they ran out of food pretty quickly and it was all prepacked/frozen food) but it was ok i guess for the price of the hotel. The area looked pretty safe and we had no dramas with feeling safe last at night. Would recommend it to anyone with a car or who doesn't mind travelling that far to Manhattan everyday.
