“Total convenience”
Can't ask for much more - does what it says on the tin, travelcard is a bonus. staff friendly, decent breakfast.
“lost my jacket...”
except narrow band wifi and unwork air conditioner, good
“just ok”
located AT the train station. surounding neighborhood not that great, but has cleaned up a little since the last time I was there. Bed was extremely hard and pillow extremely soft! room was located off a small stair, so it was loud at times with others going up or down with luggage. Good breakfast buffet, but may not be included (check your reservations)
“Mixed Bag”
Definitely a mix of highs and lows. The area immediately around the hotel is fairly unpleasant, unless you like casinos, sex shops, and panhandlers. However, never actually felt unsafe and still only 0.75 miles to city center shops, etc. Hotel discounted parking is still close to E20/day and lobby often reaks of cigarette smoke from the entryway area, but restaurant/lounge is very nice and rooms clean and quiet. However, don't bother using your "do not disturb" sign as, after having a cleaning lady enter my room w/o knocking while I was using the bathroom, I put it on the door each day. Then each day I returned to find it hanging on the inside and my room made up with my items pushed to the side. Overall, for the price, I can't say I wouldn't be willing to go back, reasonable trade offs; but some cons to note.
“Good value for a stay in Munich”
Extremely helpful hotel staff, fluent in English too. Very knowledgeable about local transportation options. Morning breakfast buffet well stocked with plenty of choices. Location is extremely convenient: a very short walk to the Hauptbahnhof. We also found local tours board up about 1 block away. The downside: rooms are small. TV set is mounted over the desk which makes viewing awkward. Physical condition of common area is deteriorating: in need of new carpets & trim.. Note not specific to this hotel: to use wireless internet you have to ask the desk clerk for a username and password. They will readily give to you but those credentials expire in a few hours. Then you have to ask for another! I've no idea why this is necessary but several hotels we've been to followed this model.
“Efficient Accommodation, no frills”
This hotel room provided the ambiance and features of a better dormitory room. A bed, closet, desk, TV and bathroom. That said, it met my needs for a convenient hotel at the main train station. The front desk staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. The restaurant provided an excellent breakfast (included in my room rate). The hotel was an excellent choice for a quick stop between trains, and to explore downtown Munich in the interim. It met my needs very well.
“Disappointed”
A good location, but entrance is surrounded by winos and alcoholics who congregate there. My room was a small dog-box and not at all comfortable, but was clean. Some staff had a so-what-not-my-problem attitude which needed to be challenged. All in all, I will not be returning, which is sad.
“great location, good value, just okay hotel”
The location of this hotel is its best selling point. It is right next to the main railway station, from which you can connect to all parts of the city. The hotel itself is only okay. Everything was clean, but a little spartan and a little old; the hotel could benefit from some refurbishing. The staff was friendly and spoke English well, but they weren't very accommodating for my early arrival. The hotel represents a good value, though, as one place across the street would cost almost double. Not a family-friendly neighborhood, though, so this might be a good choice if you are not traveling with kids.
“Helpful staff, good location”
I come to Munich every year for Expo Real and always stay at the InterCity. It's not fancy, but it's more than adequate for my purposes. Towels are thin, pillows are flat and you'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but the rooms are clean and the location is very good. The metro entrance to four U lines is right outside the door; the train station with its airport connection and food stalls is next door. The Lufthansa bus from the airport stops at the station if you'd prefer bus service to taking the train. Several tram lines stop there as well, including the #19 that runs thru the historic part of town. Free in-room internet and free transportation passes make this hotel a fairly good value, especially during non-peak seasons. It's pricey during Expo week, but every room in town is taken, so in comparison to what others are charging, this is still a good deal.
“Octoberfest means 'gouge the tourists'.”
This is a nice hotel, but NOT a 4 star hotel. We made the mistake of going during Octoberfest, which basically means that they jacked up the price for staying here. Rooms are small and pretty spartan. Also, if you go, don't bother paying in advance for breakfast. It is not worth it. Go out and get some pastry and coffee someplace else.
