“Archiac View of Customer Service Re: Internet Access”
Charging 16 Euros for use of internet is absurd in this day and age, particularly when you only need access for a few minutes and the hotels insists on charging you 16.00 Euros regardless.
“WOW !!!!”
This hotel is out of this world.from the moment you step through the door the staff offer you every kind of support to make your break as pleasant as they can, without being overbearing. the rooms we were in were de-lux , they were spotless and cool. The breakfast buffet was stocked with every choice you can imagine with some items cooked to order. Our main memory will however be the cocktail bar, the cocktail waiter (marco) was a joy to watch as he prepared the best cocktails I have ever had and he knew his stuff as we tried very hard to catch him out !!!! overall if I ever return to Munich ,and I will, I will not stay anywhere else, this hotel is that good
“Mixed impression, very nice grand hotel yet not quite live up to expectation totally”
The hotel is some distance away from the city and activity center, however the bus and train are convenient. I took the train from the airport and take a bus transfer to the hotel. The walk between the train station and bus stop is not too far however, no sign nor direction so it took some effort to find the bus stop. Both train and bus rides are fast and comfortable and costs much less than taxi. The hotel lobby looks bueatiful and grand. The room is also clean and nice. The pool and the workout room facility are pretty nice. Surprisingly there is no AC in the hallway and the AC in the room is only semi functioning which makes the room temperature is less than comfortable. The shower chamber in the bathroom is fairly small hardly allows much space to turn around. Very limited option of dining in the hotel and no eatery is close by. I had late lunch in the Paulana which is average. I also had a late dinner in the bar and the food there is mediocore. The service is responsive and courteous overall. I would not say I can't wait to go back. But I got the room through the hot deal from Expedia at a pretty good rate. So it may still be considered as good value.
“I will stay there again!”
Great hotel and 5 minutes walk from the Underground transportation. The surrounding neighborhood is not that good, but we were lucky to find pretty good cafe where the locals go just two blocks away... Also... would be great to have free Wi-Fi in the room... I hate when hotels are trying to hit you with charges for internet connection... but overall... I'll stay there again...
“Grand Hotel is pretty grand”
The spa was very good -it's unfortunate that I didn't have more time to enjoy it. The room was small, but well-enough appointed. The two beds were very small. Will defintely go with a king next time. Subway is a block away - it's at the end of the U4 line, so is convenient to most locations. Taxis are readily available. The bar is good, and fun. The breakfast is not bad for a hotel. The beer garden is good, too. I didnt' try the main restaurant for dinner, but the menu looked good. There aren't a lot of dining options near the hotel.
“Westin Munich”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin. Very convenient, located up the street from a shopping district. We were able to sample a farmer's market. Loved the vintage cars in the lobby. The concierge staff was super explaining how to take the ubahn to town and how to buy tickets. Although a little hard to find (mostly due to the changes in street names on the Mittler Ring) by car, once there we were very happy. A great place to overcome jet lag. The beds are so comfortable, I almost slept through the wake-up call.
“Worst hotel in Munich”
It was SHOCKING! I booked the room based on the Westin brand name, the great stays I had at other Westin Hotels and other expedia customer reviews, and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The room was not cleaned, never had enough towels, no bathrobes or slippers. I had to ask for coffee everyday and at one point had to call a manager to get the tub cleaned! Even after talking to managers I still had issues with room and the service! This is something I would never have expected from the Westin Brand. One positive thing, they have some very friendly people working at this hotel. The Daytime Room Service Manger, Room Service Staff, Bell Man, and the Front Desk Staff were very nice and very helpful.
“Really nice, 10 min to Center by U-Bahn, Comfy”
We got a great deal on this Hotel because it was undergoing rennovation on the upper floors I think. But it has really comfortable rooms, a great bed, super shower/bath suites, good food and cafe, and an excellent spa/pool/fitness room. Connections to the center city are 22 min by tram (#17 0r 18) or 15 min by U-Bahn, both located very close to the hotel. We would definitely stay there again. It is a very good value.
“I'll go back again, depending on the price.”
It's a nice hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff friendly. That said I got an especially good price for the room. Complementary coffee in the lobby would be a nice touch and more in keeping with other Westin Hotels.
“Upscale but needs improvement”
The first disappointment was that the fitness center and pool was closed. The room was ok but the towell rack on the bathroom wall was missing and left ugly metal bracket exposed - not what I expected from a hotel of this class. The staff was cordial but not very friendly. I would not go back to this hotel or recommend it.
