This excellent hotel is actually located on the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, where you will find many great restaurants and bars, plus on Sundays you have the San Telmo flea market within a few blocks distance. From the hotel to the downtown core (Avenida de Mayo) it is a 15 min. walk. We found the San Telmo area (and the walk to the downtown core) to be safe at all times. The hotel is located on one of the streets that runs parallel to one of the main and famous arteries (Avenida 9 de Julio) so it is easily accessible for public transportation, taxicabs, etc. We found most of the staff speaks acceptable English and we were able to communicate without a problem. Having traveled through Europe, Mexico, Canada and the US, we think this is one of the best hotels we've stayed at for the price range we normally pay. The standard room we had was very generously sized (the pictures you see on the hotel profile are current and reflect really well the reality of this great hotel). Super clean and comfortable beds, great bedding and linen, everything working in fine order, great attention to detail, abundant and fresh breakfast included, free wi fi and more...
Very contemporary, clean, spacious. Staff is extremely helpful. Breakfast adequate but not special. Neighborhood is a bit dicey, but unfortunately, that's more common now in Buenos Aires. Easy walk to the subways, but apparently you don't want to walk there at night. Best to pay in Pesos, rather than in dollars ahead of time.
This is a real gem of a hotel. I stayed for three nights in August 2014 as a solo traveller and found it to be wonderful. The staff are helpful, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast is simple but functional. The bottom line is that if you want a top-end place, the Two Hotel is not for you. However, for a budget-consciuos traveller, it is a seriously good option. It´s affordable, within walking distance of central attractions, quite close to the Subte, plus it has free wifi in all rooms! Highly recommended.
We stayed at San Telmo Luxury Suites for two nights at the beginning of February and found the hotel to be perfect for our needs. Our first direct contact with the hotel was a telephone call from our ship asking of they could arrange for a car to collect us at the port and this request was accommodated without any problem. It was very helpful that the staff answering the calls spoke good english. On arrival at the hotel we were given a warm welcome and some extremely useful information and maps on the city in general and on the local area in particular.
It was very pleasing to find that the hotel, in all aspects, was as shown in the information provided in the Expedia website.
This area of the city is the older part and the hotel is ideally located for the local colour and for access to other areas of interest around the city, some within reasonable walking distance and others by taxi.
