"Very clean when we arrived with a fresh pineapple was on the counter. We were told everything needed to know about the house. We only stayed a couple of nights, but would have stayed longer if we were not headed to a different city. The drive is a short drive to down town La Fortuna. There is a BBQ place just next door if you wanted to walk to a restaurant."

"A great experience, very different and close to Barra del Navidad. Very good beds and lovely veranda, great living quarters downstairs. The noise from the road can be a bit annoying at night. But the setting makes up for it. Lovely pool as well."

"This house was perfect for our family of 5 as a base to explore the La Fortuna/Arenal region. Everything was great, especially the incredible panoramic views and the lush garden with all types of tropical flowers and the kids loved the plunge pool. We didn't bother cooking at night so it was nice that there were a few close by restaurants on the street. Highly recommend La Ventanita for good prices, nice ambiance and delicious milkshakes. Only way the house could be improved would be a few more...

The house was a very cool experience....very clean and had everything we needed. The only downside was having to go downstairs from the loft during the night to use the bathroom. "Lovely cabana in the middle of a banana plantation. A 30 minute (2 km) walk into Barra de Navidad or a 100 peso taxi to Melaque. Either has good restaurants and pubs. Dennis was very accommodating"

The location is about 10-15minutes walk to town with young children, so ideal for anyone who enjoys peace and quiet but doesn't want to be reliant on transport to get groceries or experience the local community and culture. The beach/dock area were great for young children who like to be active and outside, and the views over the lake at all times of day were amazing. Our boys all loved the kayak and spent hours on the lake, although it would have been better to...

"We love this house and location - it’s about an eight minute drive to get to downtown, which is close enough when you need some morning coffee, but far enough to be away from the fray of everything. The cottage was simple, but absolutely perfect for our needs. Three bedrooms with their own AC made for very comfortable evenings. The main area but no AC and did get warm, but spent very little time there. Anyway, time at the house we spent outside in the hammocks, pool, or rocking chairs, enjoying...
