We have so many good things to say about the RIU Cancun. When we travel to all inclusive hotels with generally don’t have high expectations for the food or drinks.
The main buffet was generally very good, fresh and tons of choices. This was by far the best all inclusive main buffet we have experienced. There were no lines, maybe one or two people ahead of you.
Four of our six nights we ate at à la cart restaurants for dinner. It was easy to get in. No reservations needed. The service was excellent, and the food was very good.
The drinks were also very good. The bar staff is fast efficient and will make whatever you want. They even had some call brands included.
Around the pool can be crowded and loud, there’s an adult pool with a swim up bar. That is fun. There is an activity pool, and also a completely quiet pool area. The infinity pools are very nice.
The room was modern and clean, with a nice large bathroom and two sinks. The minibar stocking could have been a little better. A good idea might be to have you checkboxes for what you want.
I went to the customer service desk to ask what kind of special arrangements I could make for our 20th anniversary day, I was told they have this covered. They did a beautiful job decorating our room. Made it extra special.
Avoid MTS travel for your excursions . Communication was terrible and the excursion sold, was not the one we experienced.
