"Not a real 4-star hotel, but one of the best in AC"
Excellent location, great staff, clean room, but not really 4 stars. More like 3.
PROS: Definitely one of the best in Aguas Calientes though. They were waiting for us with a sign at the train station which was a nice touch and our reservation included breakfast AND dinner which was also a nice surprise.
CONS: There is no A/C or fan in room so we slept with the windows open. Also, the tub shower has an extremely high wall that you have to use steps to get into. It was not an issue for us, but it could be problematic for older or disabled guests.
This was an outstanding hotel. The bed and the pillows were heaven as well as the shower. Great location, a 2 min walk from the main street and the train station so we had a more quiet experience. We had a great view of the Urubamba river and the mountains. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Machu Picchu Pueblo also known as Aguas Calientes, pick this hotel, you would not regret it.

We were pleasantly surprised by the room when we stayed. Just across the train tracks, but windows made the room very quiet. If you open them, you hear the water rushing below, very relaxing. Team gave us information as requested, and held our luggage while we walked around. Breakfast starts at 5:00AM which works well to get in the bus line. Overall, a great experience.
Bar-Restaurant could be nicer; but considering most gusts stay only 1-2 nights (i guess), its OK. very good System of pick up at station (by foot) and baggage handling taken directly to the train station by hotel staff.
Staff very friendly
Probably the best option in a pretty remote place. For the price, the sheets could have been less scratchy and the rooms better lit. Lighting was really poor. We had 2 rooms and one smell really musty, but it is a remote place and on the edge of the jungle.
The staff were very nice and the food was excellent.
The service was excellent. Reception by hotel staff at the train station. They help you with everything you need or ask. The hotel is like 2 stars hotel in terms of features and room conditions/furniture/bathrooms but the overall experience was good. The family rooms composed of two connecting rooms is excellent for families. It is walking distance from the station, bus to Machu Picchu, local markets, restaurants, etc..I stayed a single night so It was very convenient for me and my family.
Hotel is well situated near a mountain stream, quiet, bright, good beds, clean bathroom and warm shower. Staff friendly and very helpful; came to train station to bring us to hotel. Staff bought Machu Picchu bus tickets and arranged for an excellent guide for Machu Picchu--we reimbursed the hotel on arrival. They also packed sandwiches for us, at reasonable cost. Wifi connectivity was poor; they said it is due to telephone repairs in the area. We recommend this hotel.
Dramatic cliffs, swathed in emerald green, rise into misty skies to envelop the tourist town of Aguas Calientes, the first and last stop for most Machu Picchu visitors. Buses depart from Aguas Calientes along a winding, mountainous road towards the iconic Peruvian landmark, thought to be royal Incan estate built in the 1400s. The town's other attraction is its namesake: a set of hot springs.
