Nice, simple and convenient

Staff helpful, stayed just one night and it was OK. AA 4 stars, personally I thought it was more 3 solid stars. Ordered room service and the soda was missing all its fizz, I guess they knew or found out quickly, but never called to see if it was OK. That's the diff between 3 stars and 4.

awful

The single room was tiny and I unclean and the staff were very obnoxious. The cleaning lady rang my phone early on the morning breaking my lie in.

Disappointing service

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Pros: Carpet was quite nice.
This is a hotel with potential, but is so let down by the indfiference of the staff to customer care. It's nearly twice as expensive as other well known brands in its sector and the service just lets it down. Examples - Reception staff who struggled to say hello, only two waiters in the resturant so lots of waiting for food (which was poor quality when it arrived), reception staff who didn't even bother to say "thank you for staying" or who were too busy training other staff that they ignored the customer. Poor showing really and won't be going near it again.

Uneven room quality but good restaurant

Posted 15-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
The Hallmark rooms vary widely. My previous stay I was in a room with A/C and more modern amenities. This stay I was in a room without A/C. I think it is a minimum requirement of a "4 star" hotel to offer the customer A/C, if only for the ability to run the recirc fan for noise. Also, the WIFI coverage is spotty. I had to move to a corner of the room to get any sort of reasonable data rate. Also, the room I was in was very loud, it was a two level above the ground floor but there was a wedding in a reception room and the bass was certainly thumping! In addition to the music the spill over of the party to the outside made the lack of A/C worse, as the choice was stifling room with windows closed and somewhat sound dampened (but not much) or windows open and REALLY loud noise carrying up from the parking lot and garden in the back. The restaurant is good and the staff are generally friendly.

Overall a good hotel staff are friendly and provide a good service. Room was at the front of hotel so a little noisy but easily bearable. Quite a nice sized room with good bathroom and clean. Breakfast was good and you get everything you would expect.

given old run down rooms, manager was rude!

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Cons: single rooms need a refurb!
usually stay at this hotel in double rooms however on this occasion booked single rooms, they were all run down and not very clean, one room had paint pealing off the wall and the other room bathroom window was covered in mould. manager was very rude and would not do anything about the issues. customer service was appalling!

Staff and food good.

All the staff were lovely, the food was good, but the room left a lot to be desired. It was on the end of the hotel that was very close to the main road and the traffic lights, the traffic was busy nearly all night. The room itself was adequate, but the hairdryer did not work, luckily I had brought a travel hairdryer with me. The en-suite bathroom had a shower that dribbled, it was way past a drip, the wash basin did not have a proper plug hole, just a hole, it also took ages to drain. Both of these problems were reported but nothing was done. The extractor did not work at all so the en-suite was damp and steamy. The lighting was very subdued and there was no desk lamp, so I had trouble putting my make up on, if this happens in other hotels, I put it on in the en-suite but couldn't here because of the steam.

Very disappointing

Posted 01-Sep-2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The booking in system, cleanliness,.
I booked three rooms, 1 family room for two nights through Expedia and 2 doubles for one night through the hotel. A couple of days before we were going to arrive we phoned the hotel to ask what time of day we could have access to the rooms and was told that the 2 double rooms had been canceled, we then went through the booking procedure again. When we arrived we were shown to a double room not a family room, it was finally sorted and we were told that they 'had booked it in wrong'. I checked that the doubles were still okay and was assured they were. When our friends arrived we were told that there were no rooms booked, and had to book them all over again! The rooms were dirty, with used cotton buds in the bathroom and broken light fittings laying on the floor. The bathroom door handle was hanging off. The hotel was very disappointing. I certainly will not be staying there again.
