Disappointing service

Pros: Carpet was quite nice.
This is a hotel with potential, but is so let down by the indfiference of the staff to customer care. It's nearly twice as expensive as other well known brands in its sector and the service just lets it down. Examples - Reception staff who struggled to say hello, only two waiters in the resturant so lots of waiting for food (which was poor quality when it arrived), reception staff who didn't even bother to say "thank you for staying" or who were too busy training other staff that they ignored the customer. Poor showing really and won't be going near it again.

Cons: single rooms need a refurb!
usually stay at this hotel in double rooms however on this occasion booked single rooms, they were all run down and not very clean, one room had paint pealing off the wall and the other room bathroom window was covered in mould. manager was very rude and would not do anything about the issues. customer service was appalling!

Very disappointing

I booked three rooms, 1 family room for two nights through Expedia and 2 doubles for one night through the hotel. A couple of days before we were going to arrive we phoned the hotel to ask what time of day we could have access to the rooms and was told that the 2 double rooms had been canceled, we then went through the booking procedure again. When we arrived we were shown to a double room not a family room, it was finally sorted and we were told that they 'had booked it in wrong'. I checked that the doubles were still okay and was assured they were. When our friends arrived we were told that there were no rooms booked, and had to book them all over again! The rooms were dirty, with used cotton buds in the bathroom and broken light fittings laying on the floor. The bathroom door handle was hanging off. The hotel was very disappointing. I certainly will not be staying there again.

Certainly shouldn't be 4 star

Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: The single rooms should have air-con- especially in a 4 star hotel. Breakfast could be much improved
I stayed I a single room and these don't have aid per conitioning in. The windows only open 2 inches and the temperature in the room was 28c (it was 19c outside) I complained but the hotel didn't have another room to move me to The breakfast was awful. There were 8 children running around- all under the age of about 7 or 8. Several plates were smashed and the parents did nothing about it. I had my breakfast knocked over me by one of the children- no word of an apology. There were no sausages, and the scrambled eggs and beans mivpxed in them. They were not replaced. I was there at 9 am and it wasn't due to finish until 10am. Hardly a pleasant start to the day

12 day stay - Comfortable and nice rooms. Very polite and helpful staff All round very good experience. Will definitely stay here again.
