"Super simple room, and the pool was a little chilly. But that was my only complaint. I had a car rental so it was easy but other guests said it was a little isolating, but it is the most beautiful, quiet and affordable place. Beautiful views close to the falls!!"

"If you are in Costa Rica to be close to nature, Arenal Observatory Lodge is the place to be. The views of the volcano are unbeatable and the massive grounds are teaming with wildlife--birds, coati, monkeys, reptiles. The many on-site trails are beautiful and well kept, and the optional guided tours are great. We did a guided night tour and were amazed by the wildlife we saw, all of which we never would have noticed without the guide. We ate at the restaurant for many of our meals and enjoyed everything, and the staff is extremely friendly. As with many places in Costa Rica, there was no air conditioning in the rooms, but this was not a problem for us in late April/early May and the fan did the trick. I'll miss this place! (PS, don't be alarmed by the long dirt road on the drive in, the end result is worth it.)"
