"Really enjoyed our overnight stay here. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The room was large, comfortable and well equipped. The building is old with good decor. The garden down to the river is lovely. Breakfast was very good. No negatives at all from us. Thank you The George."

"Great hotel. Swimming facilities lovely. Grounds immaculate and even a wee play park for kids. Only thing that spoilt things slightly was the service in the Antler bar. Not enough staff on so service was slow. We ordered food just after 5pm and had to go and check where it was at 6.10pm. They said there was a problem with the printer and they had lost our order. Not ideal with a starving 3 year old but they did their best to rectify it, complimentary drinks and rushed the order through once brought to their attention. Staff polite and friendly, just not enough of them and the ones that were working were slow. Overall a great stay, would definitely return. "

"A lovely hotel in the most perfect of areas for exploring everything Durham. A little more tea and little checks of the room would’ve made it super. Only other slight disappointment was only small amounts of fruit at breakfast. Everything else was lovely including staff and general upkeep of hotel itself. Thank you for a great stay"
