We took our parents here as a surprise for their 50th wedding anniversary, and loved every minute of it! We had two small children with us (2yo and 4yo), and everyone - young and old - just loved our stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and polite, and could not do enough for us. Our parents had an overwater villa which was just beautiful, and they had stairs from their back deck down into the lagoon, and were able to swim from there. A million fish and starfish - it was amazing! The giant swimming pool was great, and there was a large children's pool which the kids loved. The hotel has plenty of facilities to keep everyone entertained. Highly recommended!
Le Lagon was the PERFECT place for our recent wedding! The staff could not have been more helpful, especially given the torrential downpour in the moments leading up to our ceremony. The food was amazing, the cocktails in the pool bar divine, and our room - overlooking the beach and lagoon - was spectacular! The only problem was that the kids had so much fun in the kids club that they never wanted to leave.. ;)
I stayed at Breakas with my partner for 5 lovely nights which unfortunately came to an end but we left knowing that we'll definitely be back.
On arrival we were impressed to be greeted with a drink and locally made shell necklace before being shown to our beachfront Fare. We were in Fare 5 which was right next to the restaurant so had some trepidation that we may be kept awake by noisy diners but that wasn't a problem at all. As Breakas doesn't allow kids we found that everyone was there for the peace and solitude rather than for loud parties so didn't really hear a peep at all at night.
There are so many things to rave about that this will go on forever so here's just a few highlights - Sumptuous meals on the beach, cocktails by the pool, reading in the hammock, snorkelling on a coral reef on the doorstep, a 10 min cab ride to town (the taxi system is awesome and so cheap), a beautiful island with great sightseeing. What else can I say? It was perfect.
Also, the locals in Vanuatu have to be commended for being so friendly. Everyone we met, everywhere was so nice and friendly that we felt we knew everyone after only a few days.
I've already thanked my work colleague for recommending Breakas to me and now I'm passing on those recommendations to my friends too.

All staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our stay. Excellent food and service from the restaurant. Breakfast was included in our stay and we would wake up to plates of fresh fruit, hot cooked breakfast, all cereals and toast. It was amazing. We went into town and shopped most days and found the complimentary shuttle bus very handy. The bus leaves at 10am each morning and returns at 2pm. This cost was also included in our stay.
The rooms were very modern and clean. Staff cleaned our rooms daily. There were outside activities we could do which were at no extra cost such as kayaking, snorkeling, and village tour.
Beautiful pool area and great place for families with young children.
Well-run, Japanese-managed, business hotel with excellent facilities and efficient, helpful staff. Reasonable rates. Location is superb, close to town centre and many restaurants. Rooms large, comfortable with AC. On a Sunday (or any day) if so inclined, you can walk down and take three-minute shuttle ferry to Irikiriki Island and enjoy full resort facilities for token amount. Melanesia Hotel has an excellent travel agency in the lobby.
We wud stay here again had no kids with us thank god as it certainly wouldn't b for kids very quite maybe to quite but definitely enjoyed our stay would stay here again but rooms a but outdated could do with a make over and windows very dirty so need to be cleaned on outside

"Lovely location under New Management 1st Sept 2014"
The new manager of 2 weeks met us on arrival and apologised & explained there was a lot of upgrading & refurbishing taking place as new owners had just taken over on 1st Sept 2014. This was evident during the 3 days we stayed there with servicemen going about their business which didn't hinder us at all.
We booked a Harbour View room which was well worth the extra money although they could do with more outdoor furniture. This will probably arrive under new owners. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of this small hotel and to be able to enjoy a drink or a meal out over the water and watch cruise ships going in & out the harbour was a real bonus... Very pretty at night. The restaurant service was slow but I'm sure that will improve in time. We used the swimming pool a lot rather than the sea but that was choice.
Possibly a bit cramped for families but OK for couples.
We enjoyed being so close to town.... 5 minutes walk along the waterfront took us to the centre of Port Vila.
Thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.
Villa 25 actually looks like the pictures.
Picked up by Abel from the airport, swung by the dive shop to confirm arrangements, the village fruit/vegatable market and the 'supermarche', then on to Villa 25.
We spent the time unwinding, reading, sleeping, swimming in the infinity pool, snorkelling in the coral off the beach and using the kayaks. A few restaurants, fire twirling and a half day trip to a few locations.
We did some diving with 'Big Blue', including the Advanced Open Water Course. When it suited us we got them to pull up a 100m or so of the beach around 8.30-9am and swam out to the boat. We were then dropped off later and swam back in.
We largely self catered but when you want to go out to restaurants or the fire twirling Shaz (covering for Kris who was on holidays) made bookings and the driver would drop you off and pick you up for a fee - V30k airport pick up, V20k town and return, V50k to firetwirling and return, V70k for various half day trips. They are reliable, safe and living in a 'gated' area it is simpler. I had a minor ear issue from diving and Shaz drove me straight in to a french doctor and it was quickly remedied.
You can eat and relax in your Vila or use the 'luana' (a great common area next to the pool). We had great people in the other two villas and tended to have an evening drink and eat in the common area.
If you just want to unwind for a week you could almost not leave Villa 25 at all.
