Good hotel. Great position

The hotel had a good atmosphere. It's clean and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size. The only downside was the service in the bar. We waited about 30 minutes for two drinks and two sandwiches to arrive when it was very quiet. Our room was very warm for some reason. They provided a very large fan, but it's too loud.

Pros: The breakfast staff. Room smartly furnished, good bathroom with soft towels and great smelling soap.
Cons: Room very compact, choice of room service menu limited and pricey, room rates not a particular bargain even though mid week
Location: We arrived too late to make use of nearby facilities. There are many restaurants in the same complex but we arrived late evening.
The breakfast staff were the highlight of the stay; could not have been more helpful, room service expensive, the room ok but not a bargain, the parking free but at a distance, this was an underwhelming experience and I would look elsewhere if returning to the area.

Baking in the room

Pros: It was clean though art works seemed mostly to be paintings of women of various sizes in bikinis.
Cons: Better temperature control in room and limiters on windows so cannot be fully opened.
Location: Marina is nice, lots of restaurants nearby. Easy to get train or bus into Brighton town.
Stayed in the hotel at May bank holiday - which was not very warm however room was too hot and had no air conditioning. The only options were to use a noisy fan or open the widow which was large enough for my son fall out of (as could easily climbed up to and had no limiter to stop it swinging fully open despite the room being on third floor).

The parking is horrible, the walk is long and up and down stairs to get to the hotel. Rooms really hot, not very big, nice and clean but not worth the money. No water in the room. Good location for food & drink but a long walk to the main town.

Pros: Bar was stylish as were the corridors rather bizarrely.
Cons: Room style and breakfasts.
Location: Well out of town but not the trendy or quiet marina it could be. A building site and an ASDA.....
Landside room, so marina side (fully booked) may be better. Room too hot - what is it with hotels? Really noisy outside with the windows open. Large room nearly stylish but not quite let down by the bathroom (damaged bath side) and poor artwork. Bed big and good. Breakfast big and cold. What everyone says about cold breakfasts is true. Listen manager provide hot plates - simples.

Strange hotel but with nice views over Marina

Pros: Quite stylish & nice views from restaurant over Marina
Cons: Reception, signage, service (some would be good for the hotel), cleanliness of common areas, price, atmosphere
Location: near an Asda, McDonalds, cinema and lots of chain restaurants & the Marina
Very difficult to find the door as it's part built into a new shopping centre. Parking is in a multi storey car park next door. Staff were not massively helpful when we rang twice to find how to get in & where to unload and park. For the price we would have expected some form of greeting other than struggling to find our way to reception on the first floor to a very luke warm reception. Absolutely no possibility of anyone helping us from the car or to the room etc - far more budget hotel end service - definitely not 4 star. Room was nice (except for wedding disco noise from below - again nothing said by reception about this to pre-warn us). We had to request water as it was not provided as standard. Also general areas were a bit dirty although room was clean. Restaurant & bar staff were lovely but food was nothing special. Overall very expensive for the standard of service.

Nice hotel overall but downsides

Pros: Good Rooms, great service, nice food, baby and kid friendly.
Location: It's on a retail park this isn't mentioned, it's also over looking the food court of the retail park giving our rooms a food smell...
What's not mentioned anywhere is that it's in the middle of a massive retail park, so the marina views are somewhat spoiled by overlooking a pizza express and food court which has a slightly oily, cooking fat smell. Also the car park has no lifts (it has lift shafts but in their infinite wisdom it seems Brighton Council have boarded these up) so make buggy and push chair users carry them up and down stairs. Not good for wheel chair users. The hotel and restaurant itself was lovely, as were the staff just the exterior was not as it was portrayed by some deceptive photography.
