Good value hotel with excellent facilities

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: Hotel is clean and bright with attentive staff
Cons: Reception staff could give more information re shuttle bus to Lias light rail.
Location: Didn't stay long enough to find any nearby attractions - but enjoyed the light rail trip into Dublin each day - approx 10 kilometres away.
We enjoyed our two night stay - the bar and breakfast staff were excellent and the adjacent restaurant Joel's is also excellent value serving lovely meals. Only downside was the disruption to hotel entry with adjacent roadworks. We didn't use the hotel shuttle to access the Lias light rail but enjoyed the kilometre walk to and from each day.

Good value and very clean

Stayed for 1 night mid July. Great value hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Ice making machines on each floor was a nice touch. Added breakfast next morning for €10 (lots of food choice). Underground secure car park. Close to junction 9 on M50 ring road. You can park your car at the 'Red-Cow' Park/Ride carpark only 1000 metres away (ticket machine - €4 for 8 hours parking) for taking Luas-line (tram) into central Dublin - 20 min's approx €4.50 return). Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

It had very nice and helpful staff, and the rooms met our needs. The only thing that could use improvement were the beds- not very comfortable. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

It was so so I would not stay there again. The Man that was arranging the shuttle bus to the ID concert was very rude. I order a bottle of wine from the bar and two of the three glasses had lip stick marks on them. Had to bring this to the bar mans attention. The food that was served when we got back from the concert on the night was very over cooked and cold the girls that were with us could not eat the chicken dips they were so hard.

Beds were not comfortable. Were like roll away beds. Long way from city center, but could get there fairly easy. Not a 4 star hotel.

Not a 4-star hotel

The best thing I can say about this hotel is that it was clean (aside from the lingering cigarette smoke smell throughout the whole place) and the staff were incredibly friendly and did their best to help us anyway they could. Other than that, we were totally unimpressed. Our room was very small, the shower head was set at such an angle that you had to bend backwards at an awkward and uncomfortable angle to rinse, and worst of all, most of the "king" beds are two twin mattresses zipped together, so there is a huge ridge in the middle of the bed. Due to the hotel being full the first two nights we were there, we had to deal with the zipped mattresses those nights, but thankfully, the front desk staff were kind enough to move us to a room with a single mattress for the last two nights of our stay (they sent us to there different rooms before they finally got us to one with a single mattress, though, as their accommodations people kept giving them the wrong info). Just very disappointing overall. If we are lucky enough to make a trip to Ireland again, we'll be spending a little more to stay somewhere else.
