“good location, great hotel”

THe Hotel Domstern is in a great location. The staff are friendly and the room (the Junior Suite) was fabulous. If there was one fault it was that we couldn't find the air conditioner controller, however it was not needed as the heater in the room was enough. The breakfast was really good.

“Really Nice Place”

This was a really nice and reasonably priced hotel. Nice modern decor, helpful staff and close to train station. Really great breakfasts with lots of home-made items. Would be nice to have clear directions with reservations as although close to train station, a bit hard to find the first time and street not well marked. Tourist bureau and others send us in the wrong direction several times before we finally found it as there are several hotels with the word "Dom" in their name nearby. Would definately recommend to others.

“Hope to go back for Christmas markets”

Although a small hotel, the Domstern is clean, well-positioned for the city centre and provides everything one would need. Of perhaps greater importance is that the staff are so friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend the Domstern for a stay at Cologne.

“Excellent Hotel, Very Comfortable”

This hotel was so nice. From the outside and lobby it doesn't look like much but the room was spacious and clean, the temperature was just right, the windows opened wide and let in nice autumn air. We were in the Junior Suite on the top floor, so it was nice and quiet. You could see the cathedral if you looked out the window to the left. It had a large screen television with a couch, chairs, desk, two closets and drawers. The bathroom was huge! It had a shower as well as a separate tub which was huge - the biggest tub I've ever been in (yes, I availed myself of it's luxury). The staff was great and helpful. They spoke perfect English. The breakfast was so-so, typical european fare with cold meats, cheeses, yogurt, etc. Not bad but nothing special. Although they do have a different breakfast theme every day, which my husband enjoyed. The location of the hotel is very close to the train station - within minutes walking - which was great for us since we were travelling by train through Germany.

“Well Located for Dom and Train Station”

This small hotel is located about 300 yards north of the train station. Clean with friendly & helpful staff, it's perfect for a short city break or business trip. Breakfast is typically German i.e. Good!

“Simple Lodging Executed Perfectly”

This is not a "fancy" place, but it offers an exceptional value. The rooms are small--very small-- by American standards, but they are very well laid out. For example, the bathroom was very small, but there seemed to be plenty of counterspace. The staff was helpful and friendly. Above all, everything is either brand new or maintained so well it seems brand new. It is very convenient to the train station and just a five or ten minute walk to the Dom. If clean and quiet are your requirements, this hotel is a very good choice.

5* Quality, Service, Friendliness !! In a quiet road, 10mins stroll from Cologne Station, 10mins stroll to the Dom, bars and restaurants. Clean tidy rooms, lovely hearty breakfasts, people there can't do enough to help you. So very friendly and welcoming. Free wifi too. Would recommend any time over other hotels.

“Perfect for the train traveler, close to all downtown sights”

The hotel is in a quiet side street, an easy walk from the main train station. I had a room facing away from the street and would have never guessed it could be so quiet in the middle of downtown Cologne. Nice lobby with unique artwork. Room was small, barely enough space to put a TV in. Bathroom was nice, but no hair dryer. Wireless LAN provided excellent connection and was free of charge. Staff was helpful and friendly. Definitively family atmosphere. Breakfast was not included in charge, but good and available at a very reasonable price. Overall a good, centrally located value accomodation.
