Nice hotel with great location

Posted 18-Sep-2014
Pros: The location and the staff
Cons: speed up the elevators?
I stayed for 9 days and had a great experience. I had a large room and the hotel staff were all so friendly. The hotel is in a great location if you want to go running on the lake shore or shopping on Michigan. Easy access to everything. Large fitness room with lots of equipment. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Chicago. The food in the restaurant was great too!

Excellent Hotel in Excellent Location

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: Hotel is right on the Magnificent Mile with walking distance to major restaurants and shopping.
Cons: Nothing.
We took our daughter to spend a week in Chicago so we had requested 2 beds. At check-in, I showed my Expedia VIP Gold Card and we were immediately bumped up to a suite. It was totally unexpected but well received. Excellent hotel staff.

Chicago's Warwick Allerton

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Pros: Centrally located to a large amount of stores and restaurants.
Cons: The rooms can be roomier. I found the size of the hotel room to be on the small size especially compared to the daily price we were paying.
Location: We tired both Giordano's and Gino's East restaurants, both just a very short walk from the hotel.
Beautiful hotel. Great location, we walked or took public transportation to get to our destination. The Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet was DELICIOUS!

Nice hotel in middle of everything

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The lifts and clothes storage in the rooms if your staying longer than a week.
Location: One end of the magnificent mile, shops and restaurants galore
Good hotel, friendly staff, and a great location, good coffee. Recommend Giodarnos pizza pie, something special.

Warwick Allerton Hotel

Posted 01-Sep-2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Rooms. Transparency of limitations when booking.
Location: Get a City Pass and use it for all attractions. Shedd aquarium, Field musuem, Skydeck etc.
A very average hotel. Goodish location at the end of the Magnificent Mile. Hotel is old and trades on its heritage. However, there are better hotels nearby for the money. Be beware of Expedia special deals as this could mean a room with a view of a brick wall only 10 feet away. We found this outcome extremely disappointing despite asking for a room with a city view. Not really child focussed. Amenities limited - has the usual mini bar fridge in the room but there are no in room coffee and tea facilities. Soundproofing can be an issue dependent upon the habits of adjoining guests. Having toured Asia and the US extensively we were left distinctly underwhelmed by our stay at the Allerton. Signficant room for improvement.

Great location on Michigan Ave.

Located right in the middle of everything. You can pretty much walk anywhere from this location. The hotel itself stands out with its historic brick exterior. The interior is top notch from the views, to the comfy beds to the marble bathrooms. Great stay!

Nice location, but nothing worthwhile beyond that

Posted 30-Aug-2014
I had been to Chicago before this visit and so I knew that this hotel was in a good location. When Expedia asked me to check in a day in advance, I was very pleased and requested a room with a good view or at a higher floor. I also made it clear to them that I would be arriving late. However, when I got there, I was told that the requests could not be fulfilled since I had arrived late. What was the purpose of the online check in then? Some of my other comments are: 1) There is no coffee machine in the room. They offer coffee in the lobby from 6am to 11am. Yes, it may seem petty but I find it annoying to go down to the lobby in the morning to get my coffee. 2) The Wifi needs to be paid for. By being an expedia gold member, I got complimentary access but if you do not have that, be prepared to spend up to $20 a day on wifi. What's good about this hotel? 1) It's on Michigan Ave and in a prime area 2) The bathrooms are spacious
