Well located but small rooms

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: Location was good. As was breakfast.
Cons: Lots. See above.
Location: Near the catedral and very close to Basilica of Santo Domingo so very well located.
Probably ok for pure tourist, especially those who expect to spend very little time in the rooms. Although the shower is a good size, North American males will find the toilet area cramped. No real space for shaving kit / make-up bag means difficult to do these kinds of things. Inappropriate for business travelers as there is no place to work. The only work area is in the open air dining area which means it is hot. Decent WiFi -- very modern in that there is no fixed telephone. There are no offices for the staff so the manager and the chef took the best spots directly under the rotating fans. Breakfast was good. Did not eat any other meals there.

Centric Boutique Hotel at a reasonable price!

Posted 18-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff is lovely. The hotel, while in a historic building, has been recently renovated and modernized inside. Clean rooms with nice baths.
Cons: We were satisfied with everything.
Location: The hotel is in the middle of the historic district, with shopping, dining and sightseeing all at walking distance.
We chose EL DELIRIO because it was centric in the historic district and seemed "modern" and "newer" inside with all the comfort and amenities like hot water and cold air at a very reasonable price. We found to have chosen the correct hotel! The staff will go out of it's way to accommodate it's guest. The rooms are not very large, as this is built into a historic building, but very practical and comfortable. We will come back to Cartagena and when we will, we most likely will consider El Delirio again. Thanks, Gracias!

Cute small hotel, located in the center of the historic district. Easy access to great local food, shopping, and site seeing. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Tiny hotel in the heart of the Old City

Posted 02-May-2014
This hotel has about a dozen rooms with floor space about twice the size of the king sized bed. Everything is very clean, ultra modern. WiFi works well in public areas, and in some, but not all, rooms. The location is perfect for exploring the Old City. Breakfast is OK. Staff is friendly, has only minimal English skills, and is generally ill informed on restaurant and tourist advice. This caused us a lot of trouble. In addition, although we prepaid on Expedia there were about $50 of charges not explained to me in English that left me dissatisfied with the hotel.

Easy, clean and convenient

Fantastic hotel, and would be happy to recommend! The only minor quibble was that, being in the center, you could hear some loud dance music on the weekend, but that might just have been a result of staying during a busy holiday period. Otherwise - lovely place!

Not an option

Posted 11-Apr-2014
The rooms are not comfortable, the bathroom it's small, the furniture old, doesn't work well and looks dirty. Not worthy for a 200usd rate per night, this hotel shoud cost 50 a night and the value of the 50 a night it's because it's central location.
