“Will most certainly go back!”
I really liked this hotel and wouldn't hesitate about going back as long as the price is right.The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff were all friendly and helpful. My room was also very comfortable, but I did miss some storage place. I also missed not having coffee and tea facilities in the room. Still I must say it felt like home staying at Scandic Hotel Alvik. The hotel is in a very good location close to an underground station with around 10 minutes to the city centre. The Alvik area is also very pleasant close to the sea and with an outdoor shopping centre just over the road from the hotel.
“Brilliant in every way”
I was really impressed with the quality of service we got during our stay. Staff were excellent & very helpful. The room was spacious & the bathroom was brilliantly clean!! Getting into central Stockholm was just a few minutes with transport right next to hotel.

We had a fantastic time, staff were helpful and very polite, the hotel was in the perfect location, the breakfast buffet delicious and the rooms clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Stockholm!!! By the way the dinner we had was also fantastic!
“Excellent, convenient and (by Stockholm standards) good value hotel”
I stayed for 7 nights and found this to be an excellent hotel, conveniently situated only a few hundred yards from the underground / tram station at Alvik with trains every few minutes taking less than 20 minutes to the centre of Stockholm. The room was somewhat sparsely furnished in a minimalist style but was in excellent condition in terms of both maintenance and cleanliness. The buffet breakfasts were also excellent - typical scandinavian style with cerials, boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, bread (many types), jam, tea, coffee, juices. Yes (to counter a very few reviews here) if you turn up 5 minutes before the buffet ends there was sometimes a slightly smaller selection of some items, but there was still plenty of choice. I am unlikely to return to Stockholm just because there is so much of the rest of the world I still have to see, but if I did I would definitely stay here again.
“Very good hotel”
Good budget hotel, great location and fantastic breakfast! The only thing is that the air conditioned is not working and we can't open the window. Need improving.
“lovely well priced hotel close to city centre”
Overall we were very happy with the hotel and our stay there. The hotel is in a good location, 10 mins drive from city centre and is well priced. Only drawback, the room was slightly small for a triple (basically a double with a spare bed put in).
“Great hotel room”
We paid a small extra charge for the superior room and it was excellent. A few tube stops from central Stockholm. Room was clean and comfortable - only complaint was that we had to ask for milk and extra cup several times and they never arrived. Reception staff were variable as was service in restaurant. Breakfast was good and restaurant food was OK and compared well to expensive prices in restaurant, although sometimes hot food was warm. There is not anything to do in Alvik as it is a small business and residential area. Good value for money compared to prices elsewhere.
“very small”
definitely not 4 star hotel. Morning buffet had small variety. very good location- close to underground. But...: tiny room. For 2 adults and a 3 year old they added 1 bed attached at the bottom end of the bed- literally no space at all to move in room.No real closet. No real shower- just a plcae for water to run. And no fridge.. Otherwise room very clean and Stuff very friendly.
