Night in Birmingham

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Location: Chinatown / shopping / Gay Village
Picked hotel as right next door to New Street Station, so really handy (also for Chinatown). Decent place, what you expect from Holiday Inn, only slight issue was being on lower floors rather odd view of backs of other buildings, but for a night not an issue

Great Hotel in Birmingham City Centre

Posted 04-Jul-2015
Pros: We appreciated having security at the main door in the late evening.
Location: Very close to New Street station, Bullring shopping centre and The Mailbox restaurants.
Staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was clean with plenty of room to move about. Reasonably priced. Would certainly book a room here again.

great location, close to New Street Station

Posted 15-Jun-2015
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly and breakfast was really good.
Cons: nothing
Location: See above.
A great hotel in a great location. Very close to China Town, The Bullring and New Street Station. Room very comfortable. Only downside was the road noise in the early hours of the morning, however, the hotel had provided earplugs.

Good city centre hotel, especially for short stay.

Posted 07-Jun-2015
Pros: Central city location; convenient for our destination; staff friendly and helpful; good menu, plenty of choice, good food.
Cons: See comment above re the description of a 'twin' room. Situation can't be altered but perhaps tripling the window glazing would help screen noise.
Location: There are plenty of activities to join in, but we were there solely for our study day so only attended that. Sadly we had no time to go to museum.
It was very suitable and reasonably priced for the night before the study day we were attending on the Saturday. We still took a taxi to the venue but could, had we known the city, have walked there from the hotel. Being close to a busy road and possibly some pubs and clubs, it was quite noisy into the early hours, so a longer stay may not have been pleasant. However, plenty of staff were available where needed and friendly and helpful, practically and with advice. Although I had booked a twin room, the wide twin beds had been pushed together to form a large double with just a single duvet! Just as well we are mother and daughter or it may have been more of a problem. We mentioned it at reception as we signed out and our comments were noted. We had our dinner in the restaurant and were well looked after, the food was well presented and of good quality.

Pros: Very convenient to O2 venue
Cons: Carpets on 5th floor needed replacing along corridors
Location: Close to Chinese qtr for restaurants. The O2 Academy and other theatres plus shops and new street station - a good central venue

Tolles Hotel mitten im Zentrum

Posted 06-May-2015
