"It was a lovely gated community , safe and serene surrounded by nature . A bit far from train station though if you don’t have a car . Harold wood station is 9 minutes drive where you can catch the Elizabeth Line . The only concern was that a fob should be given to long term guests to get in and out of the main gate , that was a hassle . Otherwise I would highly recommend this stay ."

"We get good responsive action when we needed the flower and front garden cut. back garden need cutting, insect started entering the house, shower curtain need to be fixed but response, we mop water everyday after shower. We stayed over 3 weeks no cleaner to clean and we paid for cleaning each time we extend our stay. We will go else where so that the house can be cleaned when we leave instead of extending it and remain in the unkept environment. We stayed that long because of nearness to home...

"We had a lovely stay at Higham Manor. The property is spacious with a great pool and hot tub. We had 3 generations of our family and a dog and everyone enjoyed themselves. The property is a quirky mix of shabby chic and gothic. With everything we needed for our stay. Lots of parking and no stress at checkin or checkout. Would definitely recommend this house."

"This is a generously large property in a great location for sight seeing by car, Canterbury, Cambridge, St Albans, Brighton, Colchester, Ipswich even Norwich & Great Yarmouth. Supermarkets 5 mins away in the car. The property itself has room for 2 cars (off street). "Needed somewhere to stay that was commutable to Basildon for our specific needs , dog friendly and a place to de stress. Couldn't have found a more lovely place. As all the reviews have said it was simply immaculate, the bed linen smelt heavenly and was so comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to self cater and even has a little store cupboard of spices and condiments for your use. A lovely bag of scones and jams were left for us on the table on arrival, fresh...

"I couldn't fault this beautiful spacious home. It had everything we needed for the perfect family get away, and the playroom and trampoline in the garden got a big thumbs up from my grandchildren. The location was great for exploring everything that West Mersea has to offer, especially the seafood! Everyone went away feeling totally relaxed! One big thumbs up for me, was that John the owner greeted me at the property in person to show me how everything worked!"

Plenty of crockery for adults and children. A little shortage of spoons. Hot tub great to use. Our only concern was finding glass shards which had been missed in the cleaning process."

"We stayed for 3 nights at this gorgeous cottage. Its location is brilliant with 3 pubs (all great food) and a local village store next door which had everything we needed. Cobham woods is a short walk away which was brilliant for our little pup. The Cottage has a generous sized lounge with log burner which was great, a well equipt kitchen and a little private garden. Our hosts were amazing with communication we couldnt of been happier. Thank you for having us."

"Outstanding stay at butterfly barn, couldn’t fault anything. The place was very clean and tidy on arrival, the check in process was easy and Stephanie is a lovely host. Nothing was too much for Stephanie, she was able to accommodate all our needs flawlessly, which made the stay that much better. The barn and surrounding area is gorgeous and is perfect for social events especially the open plan living space and kitchen area. Thank you"

"The property was very clean and tidy. The Continental Breakfast provided was varied, plentiful and fresh. We only met the owner, Rosie and one other member of staff called Linda. Both were very welcoming, nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we didn’t really have time to investigate the area as our stay there had been for the purpose of visiting friends who we had met on previous holidays abroad and to attend their daughter’s wedding. We wouldn’t hesitate to book to stay at Hogwarts again...
