“Wonderful place to stay!!!”
Hotel Regina is a lovely old hotel convienently located to Barcelona's city center. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is really delightful. It's a great value for the cost. I would highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay in Barcelona. You can easily walk to many attractions and taxi or bus to many more. We stayed before and after a cruise and it is also close to the pier and the airport. We'd certainly stay there again should we be so lucky as to visit Barcelona a third time. I'm surprised that the hotel only rated a 3.
“Terrible!”
The walls were paper thin - we could hear the people next to us talking. The bed was not comfortable - felt like an old cot.. The service was great, they were helpful & the location was great.
“Check-in process atrocious”
After an overnight flight., we........ 1 Got to Hotel Regina to find we had no Expedia reservation, but 2 After denying we had a reservation for long time, it was finally found under my MIDDLE name. 3 Front desk man said that reservation was for ONE; but my wife's name was clearly on reservation we showed him. 4 We TWO were put in a room for ONE. Tiny by European standards. One person had to be in bed for the other person to move around. 5 Not helpful at all with local touring unless we picked THEIR recommended companies. The above experiences on the first day were so painful that we avoided reception after that.
“Would not go back to this Hotel”
Hotel room was small, particularly the bathroom. It was a very basic, no frills room which would have been ok at half the price but was a dissapointment for the price paid.
“Great Hotel and Location”
We loved this hotel, elegant yet affordable. Terrific location--short stroll to Plaza Cataluna and Las Ramblas. Banks and restaurants nearby, convenient to the port. Short walk to Casa Batllo. Short subway ride to Montjuic and La Sagrada Familia. The room was very comfortable for our family of four (two adults, two children), especially by European standards. This would be a great location for any type of trip to this glorious city, Barcelona!
“A Good Choice”
Tremendous location. Friendly staff. Clean.
“Perfect for City Break”
Excellent hotel in a great location, wifi throughout was useful and staff friendly.
“Good location. Nice hotel. Would go back.”
Good location. Nice hotel. Would go back.
“Great location!”
We stayed here both before and after our Med cruise during May/June 2011, and we'd definately return. We loved the location and were very happy with their family rooms (hard to find rooms for 4 at many hotels). The only drawbacks were the lack of restaurant and the somewhat surly front desk staff.
“Hot!!”
I've never written a review but I was disappointed with Hotel Regina! The hotel was fine but I really thought it was going to be a lot nicer. The room, it was like a prison cell. NOTHING on the walls and basically not a window in the room either. It was tiny and at about 7ft off the floor. That didn't help when the air didn't work all night. I called the front desk and long story short.....there was nothing they could do. Not even a portatable fan could be give to us. They had 1 room available but they couldn't give it to me. The only thing they could offer me to beat the heat was complimentary breakfast for my fiancé and I in the morning!!!! Issac the night Mgr was great! He was the only bright spot in the hotel.
