"This big hotel is situated in front of the sea with great views. It has been renewed but still feels a bit oudated. Breakfast room crowded. Ok for a short stay."

"Very old hotel, charming and quaint, its beachfront but unsafe to walķ to beach, bothered by homeless beggars and illegal sellers..parking was safe and secure at the rear. Staff was friendly, helpful and very pleasant. As my wife is disabled the first disabled room was unsuitable due to the shower . We were moved to a better equipped bathroom which improved our stay. "

"They have a rat problem and way too noisy in the evening. They rates ate the power cable that caused all the plugs to be down in the room. The hotels drinks were worse than buying a drink in the UK. Do not recommended to my worst enemy."

"We were kept up all night by noisy neighbors (residents) who had a part next to our bedroom. Although staff tried to help things did not improve. Not wanting to risk this happening again we felt forced to move to a different location, despite having only used 1 of our 5 nights rental. We were not compensated for this in any way and management failed to reach out to us, even though we’ve made at least 5 attempts to contact them. Don’t go there. Location not good either"

"It seemed the property was not ready for guests. The rooms and shelves were not very clean. The sink leaked and the bath drainage took a long time to drain. The stoves for cooking did not have knobs for turning it on. You could hardly see with the light in the bathroom when we arrived. The sofa was torn and squeaked. Linen & towels did not look fresh & clean (very old)."

"What a lovely experience. Fairway Guesthouse was sublimely superb. As a location with an absolutely stunning view of the golf course overlooking the sea and Durban cityscapes, as well as the absolutely wonderful friendly service, that simply made us feel home away from home. The continental breakfasts were yummy and different - croissants with scrambled eggs and bacon and we even got home made flapjacks!!! "This property was really nice! The staff was super friendly and helpful and it has great onsite amenities such as a day spa, pool, and pretty decent dining. The area around is a little sketchy but Durban is on the more developing side of living."

"Stay was good. Shower 🚿 head needs some attention. Leaking. Mattress needs to be changed slowly caving in in the centre. Sleeper couch mattress is horrendous. Sleeper couch was grubby. Needs a good clean. Overall the place was spotlessly clean. Came across 1 cockroach. Pool was good. Cleaning staff and security are very pleasant. Front desk not sufficiently manned. "

"The hosts are charming and very helpful. We felt most welcome. The stay was very comfortable, and the breakfast superb. There was evidence by way of ash and ends caught in the rail of the sliding doors of the bedroom leading out to the pool, that someone had smoked in the room which was unfortunate."
