"Smashing relaxed hotel. Easy parking outside and was a breeze to check in with lovely staff Room was lovely, comfortable with a great view. Dinner was amazing and the menu extensive. Staff again were great and speedy service. Some good beers on tap too Breakfast was amazing! I will definitely be back "

"The stay was ok. Little things made it disappointing, being told day before they had a no shoes policy in the hotel and could leave them at the entrance or carry to room. Mirror on wall was at a child’s height not a normal person. Coffee and tea making was on very low coffee table and needed to kneel down to make it. The place to leave clothes had coffee table in front of it so would not be ideal for long stays. As for building the 700 year old had plenty of character and was well presented."

"Horndon on the Hill is a picturesque village and the Bell is a delightful pub and hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet and in a pretty setting. My only gripe was breakfast which can work out really expensive. Toast and jam is £4.10, a 'Variety' pack cereal £2.50 and tea £2.50. My breakfast cost £17.10 and it could have been more."

"Hotel was very nice and the staff were really nice too. The lock on our door worked but was stiff. I personally found the bed in room 108 uncomfortable and the room was cold, despite turning the heating up. Other than this it was good. "

"Very pleasant stay, staff very helpful.. only negative was my pint did not taste very nice and was cloudy, when I said about it I was sold a new one and told it’s because of the bubbles .. Could have just replaced it as the new one was not cloudy at all and tasted completely fine"

"Well assessable room defo needs some thought Ramp is all good But a bath loo toilet no rails Couldn’t shower as no bath board or seat So tried my 1st bath in years ( oh gosh how do I get in a bath ) So managed then looked up the shower control was way out of reach so couldn’t do my hair , breakfast was fabulous only had scrabbled egg on toast but was perfect "

"The room was very clean and comfortable, we stayed for 3 nights and during that time no one came in to service the room. We had to ask on a daily basis for some milk for tea & coffee. Staff were helpful and friendly."
