A holiday in Sorrento is a perfect break from the daily hustle and bustle, to immerse yourself in a unique landscape of alternating sea and mountains, deep valleys and terraced citrus orchards, with panoramic views of rare beauty and internationally famous destinations like Naples, Pompei, Capri, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. A holiday in Sorrento can satisfy every desire, because here everything is simply unique.

Sorrento is a lovely city where kindness and hospitality have been passed from generation to generation. Literally a land and city of colours, the brilliant shades change with the seasons. Just stop to enjoy the sunset while gazing out towards Punta del Capo, Ischia or Procida, whose profiles you can clearly make out, or admire from the sea the majestic coastline changing colour every hour of the day.

Sorrento isn't just a seaside destination, but also home to the prestigious Correale di Terranova Museum, which hosts important artefacts of the city's history. The museum was privately founded by brothers Alfredo and Pompeo Correale, last descendants of an ancient Sorrentine family. It houses a collection of European and Oriental porcelain, as well as rare paintings by Neapolitan and foreign artists. Since the 18th century, Sorrento has become famous for its grand tradition of inlaid wood. Some valuable examples can be seen in the Bottega della Tarsia Lignea Museum, committed to local art appreciation. The museum is a multi-functional building that houses prestigious and valuable items and products, as well as organising courses and independent production.

Amongst the religious buildings are the Cathedral of Sorrento, the Church of Carmine dedicated to the Martyred Saints of Sorrento, the Church of Santa Annunziata and the Cloister of S. Francesco. Strolling through the streets in the historic centre you can make out the city's ancient Greco-Roman structure, especially along Via Pieta, Via S. Cesareo, Via Padre Reginaldo Giuliani and Via Tasso, where you can admire Villa Fiorentino and Palazzo Veniero. Sorrento is the site of important cultural, musical and cinematographic events, as well as a great base from which to explore the rest of the coast's illustrious spots like Capri, Ischia, Pompei, Positano and Amalfi.

The Sorrentine Peninsula has an unmistakeable landscape with alternating hills and majestic mountains. Man dominated this impervious landscape, transforming it into terraces from which to admire the sea and coastline of Campania, perhaps seated at a table enjoying delicious seafood or one of the many typical local delicacies, thanks to one of the many holiday packages to Sorrento.
