Pokljuka Plateau Ski Holidays

We stayed 3 nights in the Lavanda Apartment. It was clean, very well maintained and comfortable accommodation in charming Marezige up in the hills surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, for those wanting some distance from the crowds in nearby Koper and Piran. Our accommodation was also very close to Hrastovlje (20 min drive), the forests for our truffle hunting tour (5 min drive or 10 min walk) and walkable to the centre of Marezige (7 min uphill walk) where the wine and olive oil fountains are located, and where you can catch good sunset photos while having your wine. Our hosts were kind and accommodating, and conduct olive oil appreciation tours onsite. You can also sample the olive oil and wines they grow. You will need a car if you stay here, and you must like animals as the surrounding neighbours are small farms. There were no downsides for us during our stay other than the one day it rained on us. We didn’t get to try the outdoor jacuzzi/hot tub which was inviting as we were out most of the days sightseeing.

I stayed 2 days at the Hotel Lonca in Skofja Loka on business earlier this week. I arrived late on the Sunday night and Robert the Night Manager checked me in. He was polite, professional and efficient but above all so helpful on any questions I had, including the all important internet access. On the 2nd night he offered choices for dinner and then arranged for a lovely meal in the countryside, where they could pick up and get me back later. I had a lovely meal and some great wine. Overall a 10:10 on everything, but Robert was special.

From start to finish a wonderful two night stay and wish it had been longer. Such a friendly welcome, great firm beds and a lovely setting. Breakfast was great too, a perfect location for a stay.

Very nice room and staff. He even prepared breakfast for us to take when we had to leave early for the airport! Great location as well!
