Great location, very friendly and helpful staff

Amazing boutique hotel within the walls of Mdina. Very welcoming on arrival and made it clear they were there to help. We had a lovely room with a panoramic view and all the amenities you need. The fully served breakfast is fantastic. It was all beautifully presented with a wide variety - special mention to Lindsay who looked after us, she was brilliant. Our complete dining experience in De Mondian restaurant was exceptional! The hotel has a pool - not on site but a five min drive away (shuttle provided as & when) and we spent a very pleasant few hours there one afternoon away from the hustle and bustle. Fabulous couple of days at the end of our trip to Malta.

First time in Malta. Specifically chose this hotel as I wanted accommodation in Valetta close to St John's Cathedral and Valetta Harbour, though Valetta is only 1km x 1km so any accommodation within the city walls would have been sufficient. This hotel is on a very popular street with several restaurants all with tables and chairs in the street and all competing with each other to play the loudest music. This is no unusual in Valetta but it is excessive. Although local signage asks for quiet after 11pm this happened once, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday exessive noise went on until after midday, on Thursday and Friday it was after 1am, my 1st Saturday excessive noise went on until 3am.

This hotel is in the middle of a largely residential area but the rest of the island is easily accessible via Uber/Bolt taxis at very reasonable prices. We only had breakfast at the hotel which was very good with a full choice available. It is worthwhile walking around the districts adjoining the property where there are several villages wth small bars and restaurants . We found the local people to be very friendly. Many of the buildings are very historic and beautiful.

Unfortunately the senior front of house staff were not suited to hospitality. The cleaning and serving staff were excellent - helpful/friendly. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of different items being regularly replenished. Our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. The swimming pool was adequate although lacked regular cleaning. A very enjoyable stay.

One of the biggest assets of the hotel is the staff who were friendly and accommodating before we even arrived. During our stay, every single member of staff was helpful, friendly and it felt genuine. A huge shout out to Nataliia on the Guest Relations team who went the extra mile to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is exceptionally clean with amazing facilities. Although not everything is open yet, what is open is of a very high standard and the additional upcoming facilities will just enhance the hotel even further. The rooms were of a good size with balconies that have lovely views. Breakfast was exceptional. So much choice and of a very good quality. We ate in the bar and around the pool and all of the food we had was delicious and very reasonably priced. Pool areas are great and so are the spa and the gym (though the gym could do with being a little cooler). Only thing I could fault was the indoor pool and hot tub which were freezing! Yes there’s building work still going on and there are some facilities that aren’t open yet but none of this took away from a brilliant stay. We will definitely return in the future.
