(533 reviews) I wish I knew the closest train was out of service before booking. I loved the hotel and the nearby walks/hikes, but it takes an hour to get to town. They have a replacement bus service (two separate buses) to the next closest station. Those buses only run from 6:20am to midnight. This is rough for some travellers. It is also hard to figure out how to get there at first. Our map took us to the bottom of the mountain at the back side instead of the front, and we had to hike up with our stuff. Avoid the tram - take the nearest train to Schweighof train station then catch the two busses near (EV1 or EV2)z Do not book this place if you have an early morning or late night planned - you will be paying too much money in taxis. Overall the location is beautiful, and we loved our stay. I just can’t stress enough how the location is quite tough for a person who is not familiar with the area and the transit. Avoid Apple & Google maps and rely on the Zurich metro website. We spent a lot of time in the hotel as it was harder to get and stay in town for long periods. If you love to come & go from town and eat out for every meal, avoid staying here. The hotel food is extremely pricy. You need to make grocery runs and take back food as there are no other close options.
