My husband and I arrived at Brooklyn house on Friday 24the July. We had approx 2.5hrs drive. There was no one on reception to check us in at approx 6pm. After ringing bell twice I finally tracked Maxine down who came to check us in. No eye contact was made between Maxine and my husband just me and she seemed quite 'cold'. She showed us to our room after going through everything and also asked what time we would like breakfast the following morning. We got to breakfast at 9am and again Maxine went through the process, told us to choose a table which was already set up and she would be over to take our breakfast order. We were left to our own devices and 40 mins later after hearing her greet other residents and asking them how their last evenings had been and serving other residents who had come in after us, I decided to get up and give her our breakfast order. No apology received by her. Although the breakfast was delicious, apart from the fact that my husband's scrambled eggs and salmon should have come with toast, we didn't even bother to mention. We both said we would never stay here again because of the unfriendly nature we had received on our check-in and breakfast. However, all was redeemed on our 2nd day this morning. Maxine was not there but we had the fortune of meeting Ana, a wonderful person who took our breakfast order which we received within 10mins of ordering, whilst helping ourselves to tea/coffee etc. Thank you Ana for your friendly warmth

We booked a balcony room overlooking the harbour with our dog. The staff on reception were wonderful. In our room there was a doggy welcome gift, treats toy poop bags. The room was large and comfortable. Robes slippers and a fan. We should have prebooked a table in the pub as it was busy, and dogs not allowed in the gorgeous restaurant, so thankfully we sat outside. Food and views were great. Close enough to stroll into town. Small green area where the dog could do her business at night and in the morning with handy bins. Hotel is very characterful. I would like to stay in the Florence Nightingale room next time. Parking around the hotel. Highly recommend.

Dumbleton Hall has undergone a huge multi-million pound refurbishment, and it shows. The finish combines beautiful finishes, sumptuous fabrics and age-worn character features which have been tastefully restored. The staff were all extremely polite and attentive, with the exception of one evening when we were left waiting to order drinks. The drinks were delivered and by way of an apology they were on the house. Things happen in any business but I do feel it's how these things are handled which matter. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable but we were surprised there was no mirror in the bedroom at all. I would've liked to have sat down in the room to get ready for the evening but had to use the bathroom, which is probably just an oversight and hopefully will be rectified. The addition of spa facilities would be welcome and befitting of such a gorgeous location. It is a bit off the beaten track and I'm sure a spa would only add to the appeal, along with offering weddings as it is ideal for that too. We will be back.

A truly comfortable and pampered stay. David and Tonny do not have to do any effort to make your stay feel unique as they have in themselves the art of hosting. Great attention to detail; nothing goes unnoticed, from the small shampoo bottles left open in the shower, and then carefully closed to the meticulously prepared deliciously cooked breakfast. Not a single thing out of place; not a single desire not catered for. David seems the one who does the cooking while Tonny the one serves the food, and prosecco! All works out in clockwork precision. Recommended

Air conditioning was not cold. Decor was amazing. Conveniently located.

Nice hotel, fantastic spa. Sadly the staff are overworked but they are very professional and work their butt's off.

Stunning surrounding scenery. Clean room with bare necessities supplied. Free Wi-Fi. Studio apartment not as new & fresh as advertised. Be aware of electricity charge at end of stay, bins

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Chilworth Manor while visiting Stonehenge, Avebury Stones, and Salisbury Cathedral. The property was once a manor and has evolved into a comfortable, well-maintained hotel, with substantial grounds and walking trails. The trails could use better upkeep. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel; the food and service were perfectly fine. Our only real drawback was that our third-floor room was accessible only by stairs, with no lift. An employee kindly helped us with our luggage, which we appreciated. Overall, a pleasant stay with a lovely historic setting and convenient location for exploring the area.
