Lovely hotel, bit out in the sticks but great for a peaceful retreat. Problems entering the room wasn’t dealt with terribly well but eventually we sorted it. We had a steep winding staircase in our room, whilst very pretty, at 83 with an injured leg would have been useful to know in advance. Also no plug sockets at all on the bed level so the alarm had to be set downstairs … and turned off via the rather steep stairs. Lovely place.

Very disappointing experience at this hotel. When we arrived, the entire third floor where our room was located was under active construction and they never mentioned that, not even when we got there. There was construction dust and work throughout the floor, which was especially concerning because we were traveling with our baby, who has dust and paint allergies. We immediately asked the hotel to move us. First, we were told they were completely booked. Then they offered to downgrade us to another room, which we accepted, only to be told afterward that the room was available for one night and we would have to move back to the construction floor. Strangely, once Expedia became involved, the hotel suddenly had another room available. The room itself was also not what we expected based on the photos online. It looked dated and poorly maintained, and the bathroom had visible water damage and peeling/deteriorating paint in the corners. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable staying at the hotel and asked to leave. The hotel agreed to refund us, so we booked and paid for another hotel. They later went back on that agreement and refused the refund entirely. Construction is one thing, but guests should be informed beforehand, especially when an entire floor is affected. Between the condition of the property, the changing information from the staff, and the way the refund was handled, our experience was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, close within walking distance to visit the tower. The hotel has been recently swapped hands. The hotel was great for the pool after a busy hot day. We are in the restaurant bith nights we stayed. The food was something else! The chef should have a Michelin star for the quality of the food served. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is undergoing a refresh but I wouldn't let you stop you staying there as you hardly notice any noise from the refit. I would honestly stay there again plus it's close to PIsa airport too for convenience.

Beautiful location, rustic feel, delish food. Definitely a great spot. Just note the road into the property is a rough gravel path with lots of holes.
