The best resort I've ever stayed at, the bed was so comfortable, food was delicious and so many activities available

We were not expecting this place to be as great as it is. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurants were unexpectedly good with great food and views of the mountain. The onsen was a great experience. Just be prepared to have your Western views about nudity challenged (the onsen is nude only. No bathing suits allowed). Just one thing, the staff will tell you the in-suite onsen takes 20-ish minutes to cool down to a temperature that won't scald you. It was closer to an hour.

Our stay at the Grand Hilai Sun Moon Lake far exceeded our expectations. The welcome we received was warm and attentive, we felt right at home the moment we stepped through the door to our room. The view of the lake was breathtaking and the room was decorated so nicely. The General Managers and staff were so helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is generous and delicious. The spa experience was top notch and Jasmine, my therapist was so intuitive and had a wonderful touch. The Grand Halai is one of the best experiences I’ve had top to bottom. I can’t wait to come back.
