Delft Island Kid friendly Holidays

My travel agent had originally booked me a hotel inland, but I couldn’t visit Sri Lanka’s coastline without spending a night by the beach. I found this hotel on Hotels.com, and I’m so glad I did! The location ( right on a quiet, scenic stretch of beach) was peaceful and beautiful. Most of the time, I had the beach almost entirely to myself. The room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The pool was lovely too, but honestly, the beachside area was just too perfect not to spend all my time there. Although I’m usually not a “massage person,” I have to say their therapist, Sharanga, was exceptional. It was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I highly recommend booking a full body massage with her! The food was delicious, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more welcoming. On my last day, they even invited me to take part in a Christmas cake mixing ceremony, such a thoughtful and joyful experience. It was a beautiful way to end my time in Sri Lanka.

The staff and the property were both amazing. We loved our stay, staff helped with so many personal requests and were super friendly. The property has beautiful views from both your room and the pool. Highly recommend staying here.

The location of this resort is stunning, just beautiful. The service is superb. The food is amazing. And the cottage itself was tastefully recreated. We enjoyed walking the tea trails - just expect to make an effort on the plantation hills. We also relaxed and enjoyed the hotel every afternoon. They will do anything to make your stay as perfect as possible. It was an ideal stay for us.

We had an exceptional stay at Turtle Bay. From start to finish, the service was a consistent **5-star experience**; every staff member went above and beyond, and we were honestly gutted to only be staying for one night. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very warm welcome, including cold cloths and a refreshing drink—exactly what we needed after a long journey. Our room (Green Turtle) was lovely: spacious, featuring twin beds, dressing gowns, and a large bathroom stocked with toiletries. We also had a generous balcony overlooking the pool and beach, which provided the perfect vantage point for sunset views. This was one of the only rooms we stayed in in Sri Lanka that had a full length mirror, an added bonus. The only thing we found was the sheet on the bed wasn't quite enough for us, and we should have asked for a blanket but didn't at the time, otherwise we slept very well and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant offered a fantastic range of dinner options, from fresh seafood and local delicacies to international dishes—all at very reasonable prices. **Note:** While everything is priced in USD, payment is made in LKR. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a great selection including fresh fruit platters, made-to-order omelettes, and toast. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Our stay at Maya Tangalle Manor was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, with elegant décor and a beautiful room that opened onto a private patio. The garden is stunning, filled with magnificent, towering trees and peaceful rice paddies that create a truly serene atmosphere. The food was delicious, and breakfast each morning was a real highlight—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What truly makes this place exceptional is the staff. Everyone was incredibly patient, kind, and attentive to every detail, always making us feel genuinely cared for. A special thank you to Prashant, Sampath, and Kavi for their outstanding hospitality. We would also like to thank Asoka, our driver, for his kindness and excellent service. Maya Tangalle Manor is a refined, peaceful retreat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 🌿
